  • POST-OP SUPPORT
If you are recovering from surgery or a hospital admission then having help at home can be a huge support as you rebuild your strength.
A Home Helper can be there to help run errands, prepare a meal, help with light housework or laundry until you are back on your feet.
Having a friendly face can be a welcome distraction from your discomfort, as can a cup of tea and good conversation!

  • So, it's the day of tomorrow. After the dreaded meeting yesterday with my CMHT.
I suppose I'm numb. Back to being walked over by a care team ignoring my family and my views. Its a horrendous system that doesn't work. Too much focus on financial efficacy in the short term, which often ends up in re-admission due to being placed in a cheaper placement with unsupporting uninterested uneducated staff.

Is it right that a placement should be turned down because they request a patient to have staff trained in their diagnosis, an environment completely created to the individuals needs and what helps. And to request additional support where needed, to increase the patients chance of success in the long term, needing less admissions to hospital, less a and e appointments, less medication costs because that training you gave your staff 8 months ago has increased that individuals ability to support those they are looking after?
Would you want your child to go somewhere you and them believe they can get better due to supportive staff and a calm, empowering environment where they will be supported to reintegrate into society with smiles. Or, an alternative placement that is more restrictive, focusing more on all the dark stuff and at its core selling point-cheaper.
What would you want for your child?

If you are recovering from surgery or a hospital admission then having help at home can be a huge support as you rebuild your strength.
A Home Helper can be there to help run errands, prepare a meal, help with light housework or laundry until you are back on your feet.
Having a friendly face can be a welcome distraction from your discomfort, as can a cup of tea and good conversation!
