  • My review of WE SET THE DARK ON FIRE by @tehlorkay is up on my blog! Click the link in my bio to read 🕯️
•
A slow-burn f/f romance set in the midst of political intrigue and espionage, this novel hits all the right spots for me. Not only is the romance toe-curlingly good, it's got a ton of insights on protests, immigration, oppression, and the divide between the rich and the poor. It's perfect too for the upcoming Pride Month! 🔥
•
🌷 QUESTION OF THE DAY! 🌷 Have you read We Set the Dark on Fire? What did you think? 💕

  • This book was unfortunately a big fat FAIL for me 😫 I loved Lexie Elliott’s The French Girl last year and actually put it on my Must Reads list on the blog, but this one just fell flat. It just felt boring and drawn out and I took so long to read it because I just didn’t want to pick it up (it should have been a DNF, but if you know me you know that never happens 😜)

  • PROTECT THE CITY (WAIT... which city?! 🤔) 📚🖤🙌🏽
[#protecthecitycontest] “Good people do all the things bad people do, Lazlo. It's just that when they do them, they call it justice.”, “Strange The Dreamer” by Laini Taylor 💙🌟🦋 🇮🇹: Salve a tutti! 😘✨
🤔 🇬🇧: Hello there, lovelies! 😘✨
Today is super-double post because I am actually attending a contest, so if could spam this photo with much love and comments I will be extremely grateful! 🦋
We talk about representing Lazlo (and if you have read this book you will even more understand what this look is all about! 😉) and honestly I have to say that “Strange The Dreamer” was one of my favorite read of this year! 💙
Something that actually surprised me in the book was the contrast and the fight between what is right and what is wrong, if it is alright to get your revenge, even on just the children of the true responsible! 😉
Do you like when a book make you question your belief? 🤔 Do you have any suggestions for books with similar themes? 🤔
(Also if you get the Lazlo reference, add a 🦋, in your comment! 😉, you will win a shoutout! 😘✨)

  • Quick snapshot of one of the 5-star shelves on my bookshelf, featuring @joanhewrites, @fonda.lee, @tehlorkay, @elloecho, @elsiechapman, and @kuangrf! 📚
•
For those who've been asking, this zigzag bookshelf is from Dimensione in Greenbelt! 💕 It's one of my fave pieces in my apartment and one of the few that I actually bought with my own money rather than being something I took from my mom's house 😅

  • “Life is such a glorious trauma, is it not?”, “Lover Avenged” by J. R. Ward 🖤✨🌟 🇮🇹: Salve! 😘✨
E voi? 🤔 Chi vorreste con voi? 🤔 🇬🇧: Hello there, lovelies! 😘✨
If you could choose an animal companion (bookish or not, or even a fantastical creature! 😉) for an adventure, who would you choose? 🤔
I would absolutely get with Boo, from “The Black Dagger Brotherhood” 🖤, because he is the cutest cat ever and with all the good luck that the Black Dagger Brotherhood gets, I am taking the kitten to get some of my own! 🤣
(Also it is a black cat so all my Salem fantasy are being satisfied! 😆).
What about you? 🤔

  • Do you think you have a more sensitive sense than some others?
•
•
I think I can smell more than people I know, but I’m not sure. I do know that my skin and sensitivity to touch is WAY stronger than a lot of people. Embroidery makes me break out into a rash and I can’t wear anything that has that glittery plastic thread in it. (Ouch!)
•
•
How about you guys?
•
•
Shadowscent by @p.m.freestone was a really epic adventure story and I can’t wait to read what happens next! I’m so looking forward to seeing her at @yalc_uk now too! 😄

  • Still not over how excellent @acevedowrites' WITH THE FIRE ON HIGH was 🍊 Not only is it a fun read, it's an incredibly nuanced and informative one as well.
•
While I do have an ARC, it'd be great to get a finished hardback - especially since I've just found out that the cover behind the dust jacket is covered in grapefruit and orange prints! 😍 The aesthetic tho!
•
🌷 QUESTION OF THE DAY! 🌷 What's your favourite dish to cook and/or eat? And if you're feeling extra nice, drop a link to a recipe! 🙈

  • “All Art Is Erotic” by Gustav Klimt 🌟✨♥️ 🇮🇹: Salve a tutti! 😘✨
Siete degli appassionati di arte? 🤔 Quale è il vostro artista preferito? 🤔
E voi? 🤔 Lo conoscete e lo apprezzate? 🤔 🇬🇧: Hello there, lovelies! 😘✨
Do you a pendant for art? 🤔 A favorite artist? 🤔
Mine is absolutely Klimt (I don’t think you can actually see it...🤣) and when I went in Vienna to the Belvedere Museum I was like “please let me stay here...🤣”. I love his portrayal of females, where he brings out their femininity and strength! 🖤 I also love his focus on the theme of Eros and Thanatos such as in this picture! 🌻
What about you? 🤔
#eroinemay19 “Artists Your Favorite Kind Of Art” ✨.
#bookishcoven “Thank You For Being a Friend” 🖤.
#endgamebaemay “Nick Fury: Runs The Show AKA HBIC”🔥.

🇬🇧: Hello, @fairyloot ! 😘✨
I am Martina from Italy, trying again and hoping my best to be chosen this time! 😉 (Call me the Leonardo DiCaprio Of Rep Searches! 🤣).
I am 20 year old and a bookblogger, who learned her way through bookstagram and is now very much in love with both the community and the beautiful creativeness to use photos and books! 💜
I am also a big fan of your company and I have bought the beautiful December Box about dragons which left me speechless (and nowadays I don’t think that I can live without my pretty booksleeve, all my family is definitely envious of it! 😉).
I also love books mostly fantasy and sci-fi, and although I mainly stay in the YA genre, I am not shy to try anything else! 🔥
I would love to be your rep and o would make sure I can share my love for your boxes with all my followers alongside doing my best to take amazing photos of your boxes! 💗
I usually describe me as being pretty creative and hardworking, and I will be sure to put the double usual effort into this! 😊
Thank you for this chance and good luck to all the others who will be trying this, as well! 😘✨🍀

  • I heard that there are three new books by Holly Bourne to be released on October. Good luck to our hearts then. It’s gonna be a long and hurtful October. 💋💋
💋
Have you guys read Soulmates? How was it and how did you fare after that ending? 😜

  • I will seriously throw hands with anyone who says The Gilded Wolves is just a Six of Crows rip-off. Yes, it's also about a found family pulling off a heist. But there's so much more to The Gilded Wolves than that.
•
The POC rep in this book reaches a depth that I personally feel Six of Crows cannot match. Being Indian and Filipino, the author is able to imbue her characters with the thoughts and feelings that POC would have experienced at the time. We see the effects of colonialism as suffered by these characters, and how practices, traditions, and beliefs that they held sacred are commodified and turned into entertainment by white people. Not just that, but the actual people themselves were turned into living displays. And remember - all of that actually did happen, and in one of the most scientifically enlightened and beautiful periods of European history too.
•
Anyway, as you can tell, I have a lot of ✨feelings✨ about this book 😅

Qué importante darles voz a todxs lxs muertos.

  • PROTECT THE CITY (WAIT... which city?! 🤔) 📚🖤🙌🏽
[ #protecthecitycontest] “Good people do all the things bad people do, Lazlo.
