  • ⚡️ Electric Bat Speed ⚡️ from Miguel Tejada. I thought this dude had one of the prettiest swings growing up. He put up some monster years to back it up too.

Watch him treat the barrel like a whip as he turns it through the zone. He starts out his hand load by using his left hand to push the knob towards the catcher which causes a reverse effect on the barrel (tips forward). This “whip effect” allows him to create bat speed behind his body (barrel slots behind right arm) before entering the zone. Think of it like getting a running head start before you actually hit the starting line in a race. It’s an elite move from an elite hitter 🙌🏼

Goal is to eliminate wasted links and slack in the swing. Keep it one smooth move and not have to create something extra to get the engine going again.

  • The most important thing as your explosiveness and base power comes up during the winter is to not get hurt. If something doesn't feel right it is better to stop the lift or go down weight. Getting injured can wash all your gains away and haunt you for the rest of your life. 👻 Maintaining power once the season arrives is a tough task. I have seen many guys become a shadow of their spring training self by the end of the season. 💀 In the @pacassociation there isn't as much travel so guys are able to keep a more consistent workout schedule which is a unique situation among professional leagues. #baseballtraining #baseballlife⚾️ #basepower #lifting #hittingpower #lighttowerpower #homerun #velocitytraining #fitness #health #indyball #homerun

Don’t just do it, just to do it. Make sure it makes sense for your individual player and give the how to and the why 👊🏼.

  • My flat ground today was great. I know I always say things are great and I felt great...I truly mean it. Every day I can throw a ball it is great. ⁣
⁣
But seriously, the flat ground was great. Mechanically I am feeling better. Everything feels really smooth and it’s flowing a lot better. I’m not feeling like I’m taking steps with my arm path. ⁣
⁣
I introduced my Slider for the first time today. I threw 3 of them and OMG 😮 I loved it. I missed that so much. It honestly felt like I never stopped throwing it. ⁣
⁣
Super excited to bullpen tomorrow! 🙌

  • Today was one of my favorite throwing sessions. I felt great, everything felt effortless and I was more accurate than I have been all winter. ⁣
⁣
Things are starting to come together nicely. ⁣
⁣
I am going to start moving into more long toss days. Going to use that for more arm strength and use it to work mechanics. If I can hold my mechanics during long toss it will translate to the mound. ⁣
⁣
Tomorrow is bullpen day! 🤗

  • Unload and unfold the body, don't worry about the hands - let them focus on holding the bat still and tight. Let your body finish so your lines are constant and consistent .

  • Understanding the athletic position at Launch position is crucial. Hip Hinge is a central part of being in an athletic position. At first, I tried to connect athletic postures from tennis (another sport Troy plays) to baseball. Certain "athletic postures" should connect through just about every sport including tennis. This is when I realized his bad hitting posture is also carried through other sports that he plays. In regard to hitting a baseball, I wanted him to understand how his posture allows or eliminates his ability for proper bat path.

  • 🌪This swing is sooo powerful and overall pretty simple. @miketrout has zero hand load or movement at all, for him, it’s all about 1️⃣big legkick 2️⃣He leads with bat knob to create max barrel whip 3️⃣uses his incredible rotational power to pulverize the baseball. 💥From the example above you can see how tight and compact he keeps his swing allowing his core to turn/spin like a top allowing ridiculous torque. 🎥Credit: @baseballminded 👍🏻 #homerun #miketrout #baseballtraining #hitting

  • It’s Thursday! So how about a Training Tip?! 🏋🏽‍♂️ Today is all about dead lifts! -Your feet should always be shoulder width apart
-slightly bend your knees, lower your butt, lift your chest and keep your spine aligned.
Did you know this about dead lifting?! -a lot of people try to avoid the deadlift because they think it’s an unsafe exercise, BUT it’s actually very safe. (If you learn the proper form from the beginning, before increasing weights, as you should with any exercise) -Deadlifts are one of the best exercises for your body! It works more muscles than any other exercise! Even the Squat! It not only targets your hamstrings, quads, glutes, inner thighs, spinal erectors, lats and traps but ALSO strengthens your rhomboids, abs & obliques and improves your posture.
There are many different variations of dead lift, call or message us today to schedule your first training session with us!! 💪🏼

  • Workin on improving the move back (engaging the back leg earlier in the load) to create more drive in the move forward.
1. Side Toss w/ pipe in front of his left leg. This was a warm up round where we talked about being relaxed w/ the lower half and get a feel for a longer stride.

2. Roll Out Drill. Weight is preset in the back leg (start out loaded) and allow yourself to start the forward move much sooner. “Get a feel for your lower half in the ground & think about using the ground to create momentum through the baseball.”

  • Reactive tag drills are awesome for athletes of ALL ages because they simulate the athlete in a chaotic (unpredictable) environment. The same environment the athlete is faced with on the field playing their sport. This chaotic environment is very optimal for building true agility/game speed!
-
Another benefit of these drills is that they’re FUN and COMPETITIVE! Any time you can have your athletes competing against one another it really brings out the best in them and builds a fantastic training environment!
-
If you’re a coach give this drill a try with your players/athletes and if you’re a player grab your friend and head to the park for some speed and agility training!
