  • "Origin of the Species" was a new cocktail series I was commissioned to do during my time at @workbywell for @stocktonhk. In no particular order, we follow an evolutionary path from primate, to Neolithic man, shamanism, Shunga inspired art during the Edo period, Roman conquest, and the rise of the Christian Church. Alcohol being the common denominator and bridge between. (Additional Photoshop work and assistance by @dstnhlms in the final image).

  • Who doesn't love a French 75 variation!?!? My doggo and I headed over to Solidarity (@solidarityrestaurant), a fantastic Polish bar in Santa Monica. The food is absolutely amazing. And their cocktails are simple, refreshing, and delicious.

This French 75 has a homemade lingonberry syrup. I love that it's not too sweet. The lemon actually comes through more in a tart, crisp way. Going to order ANOTHER with some mushroom and spinach mousse crepes. What!!!!! #treatyoself

We call it sharbat-e sekanjabin,
in Persia sekanjabin (Oxymel) made with wild mint, vinegar and Honey in traditional way)

But We change original recipe to revival our old persian drinks for peoples all around the world 🌎 
Ingredients:
🍯 Hand made vinegar honey syrup
🥒 Cucumber
🍾 Soda
🍋Lemon 🌸Malva 💉🧪 Rose caviar
🌺Garnish with edible flower

Ancient history recounts that it is something to help ease indigestion or restore body imbalances.

Persians make and bottle various types of sweet, fragrant, colorful syrups by cooking fruits or flowers or herbs in dissolved-sugar water. When ready to serve, a bit of the syrup is diluted and stirred with ice cold water and one ends up with a pretty and refreshing drink that is a popular Persian beverage generically known as sharbat. 
Sharbat ‘e sekanjabin, is perhaps the oldest type of Persian sharbat, tracing its roots at least as far back as the 10th century, as noted and praised in the canons of medicine written by Ibn Sina (Avicenna) the Persian polymath.

The name ‘sekanjabin’ is an Arabized version of the original Persian term, ‘serkangabin’, a combination of the Persian words ‘serkeh’ (vinegar) and ‘angebin’ (syrup, sweetness), literally meaning ‘honeyed vinegar’. True to its name, sekanjabin is made with vinegar and honey.

Sweet and sour and infused with the heady scent and flavor of fresh mint, this sharbat was not only popular with the Persians, but also copied and favored by the ancient Greeks and Romans who knew it as oxymel.
