  • A BIG congratulations is due to Michelle R. for taking her 500th class!! 👏🏻 After taking a year off from competitive horseback riding, Michelle was hesitant is jump back into the sport. Thanks to a consistent #PureBarre workout, she maintained the strong core and muscle control she needed to ride well! One reason she loves PB is because even after 500 classes, it never gets old or easy. Michelle was never a morning person, but the 5:30am classes have turned her into one – even making her more energetic and motivated throughout her day! For anyone interested in taking PB, Michelle encourages you to stick with it for at least a month and you’ll soon notice changes in your body as well as your energy levels. "I really appreciate how all the instructors make an effort to get to know the clients.  I did a previous workout where after 6 months of regular classes, they still had no idea who I was. Being greeted by name when you enter the studio is a tiny thing, but it really makes a difference," she adds. Way to go, Michelle!! 💗 You're a rockstar! #500Club

  • 💪🏽Your girl didn’t give up 🔥

Experience isn’t always enough. Today, I decided to take a class; Barre. This class uses ballet-and Pilates- inspired moves to give you a full body cardio and strength workout. Skill level= intermediate. Intensity = medium (cardio, strength and flexibility) 20 minutes into this class and my muscles were on 🔥. Between having Mana and Meli, I was obsessed with Pilates . I was in the gym 6 days a week, and Pilates 3 of those days. Take me back to those days when I was in the best shape everrrr!!!! Then I had 5 c-sections in a 7 year span 😳 You’d think my body would be built like a warrior after five surgeries. Not a chance! My core could not “snap back” 😉. I stayed away from core strength exercises and classes because it hurt to use those muscles even years after having Hiwa. Well, today I was humbled in class! It took every bit of mental strength to press through .. AND I DIDN’T GIVE UP 🙌🏾 Looks can be deceiving ... I started off with 6lb weights because that’s what I saw everyone else grabbing. And I thought, “Uh-ok! JUST 6lbs?” Like I mentioned, 20 minutes into class and my arms were on 🔥! I confidently walked to the barbells in the middle of a set and grabbed a couple 3lb weights. I wasn’t there to l👀k like a pro or experienced Barre student. I was there to train. I was there to learn. I’m here to improve. I’m here for ME.

FUNNY FACT: So, I broke a toenail throwing my leg up on the ballet bar, miscalculated the height of the bar and distance 🤦🏽‍♀️ - I was a hot mess in class 🤣 But it was probably the best laugh I had at myself in a long time!!!

It was such a release to simply be me; imperfect!!! I didn’t have to show up like I would for work and pour my “experience” into others to develop them. I was an imperfect student in an hour class that I’ve never tried struggling to get through each 5 minutes while giving it 💯. I need more days like this! #failforward

MINI BAND BARRE LEGS WORKOUT 
1️⃣ 80/20 Squat + Side Leg Lift 
2️⃣ Standing Clam Shell Lift + Kick Out 
3️⃣ Magic Circles (forward) 
4️⃣ Side Leg Lift 
5️⃣ Magic Circles (backward) ——————————————————————
Swipe ➡️➡️ to see each exercise broken down. Note, if you don't have a mini loop resistance band you can always do this workout with your just your bodyweight! ——————————————————————
DO IT: Perform each exercise for 30 seconds; completing moves 1-5 on the right side the first set through. Then take a 30 second rest and repeat moves 1-5 on the left side. Repeat x 4 sets total (2 sets per side). ——————————————————————

  • Did you know you CAN do anything you put your mind to no matter your weight or size? When I (Lacey) was young, I was a BIG GIRL, thankfully I had super confidence boosting parents who taught me to believe in myself even though I was the biggest girl in my class. I took dance, competed in dance competitions, piano, gymnastics, etc. I squeezed into the teeny tiny 2 piece sequined dance costumes, went out and danced my heart out on the stage. When most would’ve been too embarrassed to even walk out into the spotlight. My dad would have me repeat affirmations in the wings before showtime “I am a great dancer, I AM a great dancer, I am A great dancer, I am a GREAT, dancer, I am a great DANCER” and lo and behold, I believed it, I believe in myself. I didn’t let my weight or everyone’s preconceived notions of what a great dancer “looked” like get to my head. Super thankful for that confidence because I’m not sure I’d be here today as a fitness studio owner and instructor. I may not look like your typical super buff, ripped, zero body fat studio owner or instructor but I wasn’t going to let that stop me from being a catalyst of change in an industry so wrapped up in appearance and perfection - I’ve actually been there, I weighed 124 pounds at 5’8” and was tiny but SUPER unhealthy. The only way I sustained that look was starving myself - eating an apple for breakfast, 2 rice cakes with 10 cal jelly for lunch and a giant helping of steamed vegetables for dinner (maybe a plain Wendy’s Baked potato with ketchup if I’d done a ton of cardio that day). NOT HEALTHY, NOT SUSTAINABLE. I starved myself trying to become what the world told me I needed to be. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A CERTAIN SIZE OR WEIGHT TO BE AMAZING AT THINGS, OR START SOMETHING. Please, please believe in yourself. You have value and are capable of great things at size 2 or 22. You can literally do ANYTHING NOW.   • Did you know you CAN do anything you put your mind to no matter your weight or size? When I (Lacey) was young, I was a BIG GIRL, thankfully I had super confidence boosting parents who taught me to believe in myself even though I was the biggest girl in my class. I took dance, competed in dance competitions, piano, gymnastics, etc. I squeezed into the teeny tiny 2 piece sequined dance costumes, went out and danced my heart out on the stage.
