  • Who spent quite a bit of time making a hospital bag checklists? or spent lots of time preparing a hospital bag before giving birth to their little one🙋🏻‍♀️
.
So much thought goes into the birth, birth plans and hospital bag packing checklists
.
What if we spent more time creating a postpartum mental health care checklist? They say it takes a village to raise a child. What is we spent more time preparing our supports and creating our village? What if we started thinking about some daily self care routines and locating services and support groups in our area? Can you imagine how much better off we’d be? How much better off our mental health would be? .
We would love to make this the new norm! What would you put on your postpartum checklist? Are there any resources you’ve found in your area that have been helpful? .

  • I see you, you're the mama who tries everything they can to keep their child awake in the car, because you know if they fall asleep for even 10 minutes, they won't nap when you get home! 😭
.
.
.
Quite a few little one's don't transfer well from an on the go nap to their crib / bed, my two girls included. .
.
.
.
When you have a little one that doesn't transfer well, you want to avoid on the go naps nearing nap time as best as possible. Reason being is, even a 10-15 minute nap on the go can turn into a nap refusal once you're home...trust me, I've been there. .
.
.
.
Think of it this way, when you're little one is tried, their sleep tank is on E. When they get a tiny bit of sleep on the go, it's enough to fill their tank just enough to give them energy for a while longer. So, if you try to put them down for a nap once you get home, while their sleep tank isn't full by any means, they are going to have hard time falling asleep, because their body recognizes they still have a little bit of sleep left in their tank. .
.
.
.
What can you do to avoid this? As best you can, try to plan to be on the go after your little one wakes from a nap, not when it's nearing nap-time. If you have to be out around nap time, do whatever you can to keep them awake, roll the window down, sing / dance like no one is looking (even though you know they are), act a fool to keep your little one awake...you'll thank me once you're home and they are sleeping peacefully in their crib / bed 😉

  • “Never nurse your baby to sleep, it will become a bad habit and they won’t be able to sleep”⁣
⁣
🙄⁣
⁣
✅Sleep associations are not always a bad thing, however they are often considered a “bad habit” by a lot of the sleep industry these days.⁣
⁣
➡️Think about what associations you have as an adult for bedtime.⁣
Do you have a cup of tea before bedtime?⁣
Essential oils that you need to diffuse at bedtime?⁣
A certain pillow or comforter?⁣
What do you do to relax and prepare for bedtime?⁣
⁣
➡️Your child is no different. They will associate sleep with nursing, rocking, cuddling or maybe a lovey or pacifier. ⁣
⁣
💯There is nothing wrong with any of these things, as long as they are not an issue for you and guess what, your baby can still be capable of sleeping through the night. ⁣
⁣
➡️If they become an issue, you can make changes.⁣
⁣
Moms live in constant worry that a “bad habit” will develop. ⁣
⁣
✅Breast feeding to calm and relax your baby before bedtime is great if it works for you. ⁣
⁣
My 11 month old still breastfeeds right before bed & sleeps 11-12 hours a night. I put her in her crib, she wakens slightly, grabs her lovey and rolls over and goes to sleep.⁣
⁣
✅It works for us and when it’s not anymore, we can make changes. ⁣
⁣
💤What does your little one associate sleep with? Comment below!⁣

  • I ❤️ baby names: the crazy stories, the deep meanings, the trends. I am always here for it!
-
Please share! Give me all the details about your baby's name! 🥰
-
I'll go first! Our third is "Jace." He was named after a friend's dog, a Yellow Lab to be exact.
My husband got so excited. "Babe, there are no 'Jaces' in my entire practice! I love it! It's so original and I have no other associations with the name. Let's pick Jace. Please?!"
The day after Jace was born, my husband rounded at the hospital to see newborns, and his very first patient was a boy.
24 hours old.
Also named Jace! 🤣
