- 🍼Have you recently welcomed a new baby into your family? 🍼Are you ready to get out and about and would like to meet other new mums and babies? 🍼Or are you due very soon and are starting to think about what classes you’d like to attend when your baby does arrive?
Well Tots Play can help!
It is never too early to engage your baby in play. From the moment they are born, every smile, touch, sound and movement builds new pathways in the brain that help them to learn and grow, and to develop their own unique personality.
But do you wonder...? · Exactly how do I play with my tiny bundle? Or · What can I do to make the most of those times when all the routine things have been done and my baby is ready to explore the world?
Tots Play’s 6-week Baby Development course is designed especially for our youngest babies, and provides new parents with a range of skills and activity ideas to give your baby a head start in life.
At Tots Play we understand that it can be nerve wracking starting a new class with your baby so that’s why we keep our classes small and friendly and you will be invited in a private chat group so you can all get to know each other, share your experiences and not feel left out 😊
We are starting to take bookings for our next courses that start: •Monday 16th September at 12pm in Greenfield •Tuesday 17th September at 12pm in Royton
The full course costs £58 and includes a fantastic comprehensive workbook, organic massage oil and a selection of the music we use in class so you can join in all the fun at home too!
Find out more about the course at www.totsplay.co.uk/baby-development-course and book your place at our website https://totsplayoldham.class4kids.co.uk
Places are limited to 10 babies and their grown ups and we’d love to see you there!

- It was an exciting morning in Okehampton today as we explored the world of shapes. It was so lovely to see some lovely Social Tots walking having been right on the cusp of it for weeks. There'll be no stopping them now! I love seeing those milestones reached, it's one of my favourite parts of the job 😍
Our tots were very busy today, exploring, chatting, rolling and socialising. We worked our minds and bodies as we did some bouncing, zooming, swinging and much more. Our grown ups helped us to identify different shapes, with lots of things to touch and feel too.
Our sensory collection used rice and silicone cake cases to practice scooping as well as having colourful shapes to fill, and we also spent some time cutting different shapes out of playdough, which is fantastic for multi-sensory stimulation and building dexterity and the muscles in the hand.
Thanks for coming along and getting stuck in, see you next week for our last session of the term!

¡Reserva tu plaza! ¡Quedan muy poquitas! Link en Bio

- Tinytalk has been part of our lives since Tansy was 10 weeks old. Weekly baby signing and toddler signing classes have been invaluable to us. Helping us to communicate with our girls from an early age, and more importantly, helping them understand and communicate with us effectively.
Today was the last session of the summer term and Tansy’s last ever session.
Thanks @tinytalk_nottingham_central_ for everything. The tea and biscuits, the listening ear, and above all, being a special part of our little ones journey from tiny babies to the confident little girls that they’re becoming.

This weeks signing fun was all about our Bath Time! 😄
What a fantastic morning - thank you all our bright and alert Baby & Little Signers 💡We learnt lots of bath time signs and about our bodies - giving us body awareness and confidence. Our animals came with us on our bath time story adventure 🐢🦆 with a few unexpected guests 🦁🦒! We got messy with our bubble making experiments in our creative corner 👍, and we learnt how to our tell our grownups when we want 'more' 💦!
Every week it amazes me how our baby's eye contact and gesturing improves, and how toddlers can form signs with their play; all growing more confident as the weeks go by 🧡

- I call these the “milk outtakes” from videos where we were trying to capture @lyric_sanaa310 signing or her reactions to us kissing. Swipe to see @andrejalil get a little taste of my world. 😆
On a more serious note, I posted a question about the weaning process to get advice from other moms when lyric was approaching 1 year old. Many people “guiltily” admitted nursing until 2-3 years old. The more I read about what’s common around the world, the more I stopped paying attention to all the Mommy advice noise. I want to say to all of the mommies, soon-to-be mommies, and future mommies.... Stop allowing the Euro-American one- size- fits all brand of child rearing apps, books and articles make you feel guilty about what feels natural to you as a mother. The practice of forced weaning is foreign to many cultures and became common to cultures at times when women were pushed into the work force due to wars or other social-political happenings. It is also common in places where the maternity leave is crap. It is also common in places that choose profit from formula over a baby’s health. If you choose to force wean your baby, do it cause that’s what makes sense for you and your family. Don’t do it because society has made you feel like something is wrong with nursing past a certain age. Your baby is an individual. Treat them as such. No how-to book will ever replace a mother’s instinct. I’m reminding myself of that daily. 💞

- @lyric_sanaa310 is starting to sign in phrases. For those who didn’t see my previous post, I started using sign language with Lyric at around 3-4 months. I did not see the fruits of my labor until around 9 or 10 months. What I’m loving about signing is the fact that she can demonstrate comprehension and communicate with us prior to having the ability to speak. The funny thing is since she essentially knows two languages she sometimes “babbles” in sign language. Moving her hands around mixing real signs with invented ones. If you’re considering using baby sign language or feeling like it’s not working, don’t give up! Be consistent, one day your baby will communicate their needs and you’ll feel that it’s all worth it. 😊 #babysignlanguage #babysigning #asl
