  • YUMMY BEEF STEW🍛
.
👉🏼Swipe for ‘how to’ video or follow recipe below
.
This meal is an absolute hit in our home- the whole family loves it! ♥️ In fact, I usually make a batch once a week
.
It’s perfect for keeping leftovers in the fridge for the next day or even popping a few servings in the freezer for a future date. Although it cooks for a while, the prep time is pretty quick (⏰which mama has time to be prepping for hours) And most excitingly, it's packed with delicious nutrients
.
So here it is😋
.
Ingredients (serves 2 adults & a baby):
•oil for frying
•2 onions, chopped into wedges
•400g organic lean diced beef
•2 carrots (chopped to suit your baby)
•450ml vegetable stock (homemade-DM me for recipe or low salt alternative)
•bouquet garni
•2 potatoes
•1 Tbsp cornflour
•side of your choice- I like couscous or rice
.
Method:
1️⃣In a large pot with a matching lid, oil the pot and add the onion & beef
2️⃣Cook on medium high heat until the beef is browned
3️⃣Add vegetable stock, carrots and bouquet garni
4️⃣Bring to the boil, lower heat & simmer approx 1.5 hours
5️⃣Add the potatoes and simmer for a further 30 mins
6️⃣Remove the bouquet garni and turn heat up to medium high
7️⃣Add cornflour to a small mixing bowl
8️⃣Add 2 Tbsp of stock from the pot to the cornflour and stir thoroughly
9️⃣Once you have a smooth consistency, add a few more Tbsp of stock to the mixture and stir once again
1️⃣0️⃣Add the corn flour mixture to the pot and cook for 5 minutes or until the sauce starts to thicken, stirring occasionally
1️⃣1️⃣Serve up and Enjoy!
1️⃣2️⃣Can be served with couscous, rice, dumplings, bread
.
This meal can be used for BLW or can be spoonfed- I usually opt for a bit of both. Give it a try and let me know how your baby enjoys it...
.
What is your little ones favourite meal?

  • #4 BUTTERNUT SQUASH

High in vitamins and calcium – smooth, delicious and very nutritious, Butternut Squash roast up to tasty flavourful perfection and blend and puree into as thin of a texture as you require.

To retain the most nutrients while bringing out the most flavour, the best way to cook butternut squash is to roast or bake - which I did!

Ingredients:
- 1/6 butternut squash
- 30ml freshly expressed breast milk (mashed/purée)

Steps for BLW:
1. Cut butternut squash in half lengthwise
2. Scoop out seeds
3. Remove skin & cut into 1cm strips
4. Bake for 30 minutes in a pre-heated oven at 180 degree Celsius (spray some water to avoid being too dry)
5. Set aside to cool before serving

Steps for purée:
1. Cut butternut squash in half lengthwise
2. Scoop out seeds
3. Remove skin & cut into 1cm strips
4. Bake for 30 minutes in a pre-heated oven at 180 degree Celsius
5. Mash with a fork in a bowl
6. Pour in baby’s usual milk (ebm or formula)
7. Mix into a smooth consistency

You can also dice into cubes, boil/steam until tender, then follow steps 5-7 above.

Note to self: BabyM preferred BLW as compared to purée for Butternut Squash.
