  • I love breakfast it sets me up for the day, my favourite breakfast is porridge which is also a perfect option for weaning babies or toddlers, you can add many textures to it with lots of yummy fruits. I’m loving kiwis at the moment as they have huge nutritional benefits!

  • Wanted to treat Lil 'M' today and tried this Fig + Apple + Dates puree and it came out really really well *

Suitable for age 8 months and above . 
1+ yr old babies can have dried fig. 
Younger ones can avoid dry fig as they are sweet 
#

Recipe : 🥢Boil 3  Figs (peeled the skin off)
🥢and 2 Dates 🥢and a small sized apple (peeled) 🥢One cashew nut 
In pressure cooker for 2 whistles

And mashed up all of them with a hand blender 
All the ingredients are sweeter in taste so the puree is really really tasty and Maan undoubtedly loved it. 
Figs are great nutrients and fibre source thus helps digestive system. They are also anti microbial agents and help strengthen the immune system. 
Dates ,as we all know are power packed with loads  of nutrients and vitamins

One cashew nut for taste  as he is bored of his  porridges, plain fruits and vegetables

  • Traffic Light Chicken Porridge 🍗 [7M+]

Ingredients for 2 serving:
🔺2 tbs white rice
🔺Unsalted butter
🔺Chicken fillet
🔺Cherry tomatoes
🔺Pumpkin . .
🔺Pak choy
🔺1 ts evoo
.
Steps:
🍃 Steam white rice for 30 minutes and pumpkin for 15 minutes in the babycook . . .
🍃 Sauté the chicken with unsalted butter.
🍃 Add 70ml of plain water + cherry tomatoes + pak choy and wait until boiling. . .
🍃 Pour the steamed white rice and pumpkin into the pan. Mix them altogether.
🍃 Blend all the ingredients according to your child's preferences & sieve.
🍃 Add on 1ts of evoo. Done ! 🥰

It’s fooooood time for me and little miss. She’s not the best with her milk so I add the rest of her first bottle into some porridge and she loves it! Mummy has a cuppa and some oaty bites which I’ll try Amelia on once she’s having finger foods. .
.
We now have full tummies to tackle our Monday. The washing is on so I just need to get little miss dresses then we are off to see a friend, via the school is I forgot the boys homework books! .

  • 🍎Apple and Cinnamon Porridge🍎
This recipe in particular is what I have used for my babies when they first start having breakfasts!
It is super simple- 4 ingredients and it can be adapted to be smooth or chunky for your babies preference.
What you need:
🍎1/4 cup Whizzed up Wholegrain Oats
🍎1/2 cup Water
🍎1/4 Large Apple peeled and grated
🍎pinch of Cinnamon
How to make:
🍎Put whizzed up oats into a small saucepan and add water.
🍎Bring to the boil and simmer until Oats are well cooked and Soft
🍎Put grated apple and cinnamon into a bowl and put the Hot Porridge overtop.
🍎The Porridge will slightly soften the apple and at this stage either use a teaspoon to give it a bit of a chop around, leave it as is (For Toddlers) or whizz it up with a bit of extra boiled water for small babies!
Darcie’s is getting awesome with texture so I’ve just given it a rough stir for her.
🍎Let cool then serve. This is a big portion and will give Darcie two meals. 1 toddler meal and prob 3-4 Small baby meals.

We love to start the day off with porridge, so quick to make, super filling and there’s so many different flavour combos - the possibilities are endless! ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today Nina and I had mixed berry and apple porridge, this recipe made loads so I’ve portioned some up and popped in the freezer for those mornings when I really can’t be bothered! ⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What’s your favourite porridge flavour combo? ⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ingredients: ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀
• 250g of regular rolled porridge oats (1 mug full) ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀
• 500ml of whole milk (2 mug fulls)- any plant based alternative works very well too ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀
• 2 large handfuls of frozen mixed berries (bought in frozen as it’s cheaper - however fresh fruit can also be used) ⠀⠀ ⠀
• 1x 90g pouch of unsweetened apple purée (optional, but adds a little sweetness if your berries are very sour) ⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Method: ⠀⠀
1) Add all the ingredients to a saucepan, and cook for around 5 minutes stirring often, till you reach your desired consistency. ⠀⠀
2) Serve with your favourite toppings. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Tip* Serve baby porridge on a plate rather than a bowl if they are impatient for their breakfast. It will cool down much quicker. ⠀⠀

What are you cooking up for breakfast today? ⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ingredients: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• 1 regular mug full of porridge oats ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• 2 mugs (the same sized mug as you used for your oats) of your choice of milk (cow or plant based) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• 2 eating apples, grated using a box grater ⠀
• 1.5 teaspoons of cinnamon ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• A small handful of raisins ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So we’ve done Carrot Cake porridge, how about Apple Pie porridge? Grated apple, cinnamon and raisins, makes pure comfort and deliciousness in a bowl! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ingredients: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• 1 regular mug full of porridge oats ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• 2 mugs (the same sized mug as you used for your oats) of your choice of milk (cow or plant based) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• 2 eating apples, grated ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• 1.5 teaspoons of cinnamon ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• A small handful of raisins ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
