  • Here are my picks for the 2019 NL Rookie of the Year!
•
First off, we have Pete Alonso. He is a lock to win the award, as there is no one even remotely close to him in my opinion. He put up some stellar numbers this year, including breaking the rookie home run record with 53 and his wRC+ of 143 puts him at 9th in the entire MLB. My 2nd pick is Fernando Tatis Jr. In the first half of the season, you would’ve been hard-pressed to find a better hitting shortstop, much less a rookie. Unfortunately, his season was cut short by an injury in early August. However, that shouldn’t diminish his case for rookie of the year. Despite accumulating just 372 plate appearances, he racked up an impressive fWAR of 3.6, with only Mitch Garver and Yordan Alvarez having a higher WAR with fewer plate appearances. His .969 OPS and .398 wOBA were unparalleled, both easily ranking in the top 10 in the MLB, had he qualified. My third pick here was Braves starting pitcher Mike Soroka. In a fantastic rookie season, he pitched to an extremely solid 13-4 record with a 2.68 ERA, which typically should get some Cy Young votes, nonetheless Rookie of the Year votes. Why, you might ask, is he so low then? Well, if we take a look at the bigger picture, we see that his ERA isn’t all that it makes him out to be. Despite ranking 5th in the MLB in ERA, his 3.45 FIP drops him down to 14th, his 3.85 xFIP takes him down to 23rd, and his SIERA of 4.28 brings him al the way down to 29th, near the likes of Anthony DeSclafani and Joe Musgrove. A close 4th behind Soroka would be Bryan Reynolds. He quietly put together an impressive season for the Pirates with an .880 OPS and 131 wRC+ to go along with a 3.2 fWAR. However, his high BABIP and low expected statistics indicate a bit of luck, so he drops to 4th.

  • What’s better than your mother inviting you to a MLB Playoff game? 🤔 Very interesting experience to say the least. Oh yeah, The Braves were down 10-0 at the end of the 1st inning 😩🤣🙊

  • He already has his work attire on and YES he is accepting new clients! The boss will be on all showings & closings since his mommy works for him now. ☺️ His lungs aren’t that developed for certain properties so we are limiting our work load.
