En el Yoga físico no importa el método la meta es entrar en meditación. Para ello en Ashtanga Vinyasa usamos los drishtis, la respiración sonora y la repetición. Se busca en este y todos los demás métodos hacer todo lo que nos indican conscientes, absolutamente presentes en cada respiración en cada movimiento. Les propongo que en su próxima práctica lo prueben y sin importar si son alumnos míos o no me cuentan como les fue 🙌 #yogi #yogilife #ashtangayoga #yogaeverydamnday #yogaeveryday #yogisofinstagram

Our Ashtanga teacher @angeliqueyoga has just returned from a month in India practicing with her teacher and has so much knowledge and wisdom to share with our Palm Beach Ashtanga community.

Mysore is the self-practice method of Ashtanga Yoga, a vinyasa method with a set sequence of postures.

The instructor teaches and guides students on a one-on-one basis, like a private lesson within the group setting

Students work on the sequence as they have learned it at their own pace, directing their yoga independently of the other students.

This method allows students to give deeper attention to their practice where and how it is needed, allows for investigation, modification, and care towards physical restrictions, imbalances, and injuries.

This practice is suitable for all levels of experience and ability, as long as you are willing to give it your effort.

  • Muita gente tem me escrito para falar sobre o tema do GURU. Realmente, cada dia mais eu sinto que: 
1. O verdadeiro professor é aquele que te ajuda a ver que você contém toda sabedoria que precisa, ele te ensina a confiar e como se escutar 
2. O nosso corpo é nosso professor. Ele nos ensina que viver aqui na Terra tem prazeres (comer pizza, abraçar, cantar, dançar...) e tem limitações. Doenças, dores e morte são inevitáveis. E aprendemos muito com tudo isso! O que seria da ética se não existisse a morte? O que seria da busca pela saúde se não fossem as doenças ? .
O professor de Vipassana S.N Goenka só começou a meditar porque tinha uma enxaqueca que não sarava com nada. O professor de Yoga Hermogenes começou a praticar porque tinha uma doença super séria nos pulmões e foi buscar sua cura. Tantos mestres chegaram a ser mestres porque queriam achar uma solução para seu sofrimento físico e mental. .
As dores, doenças e limitações do nosso corpo não são nossos inimigos. Eles nos mostram o caminho para a cura e é por esse caminho que vamos achar um tesouro escondido. Que é uma sabedoria profunda. Que são nossos professores. Que é você mesmo! .
Resumindo: você é seu guru!

  • A little more than one year ago I fractured a rib in my back. It was a turning point for me—there was a lot in my life that was broken and I didn’t know it. I’m not moving as easily as I did, but my heart is stronger and I have more space now. It’s nice to lift myself higher. 📷: @yogawithmii

The theme for today in the #yogaischallenge is wisdom. The wisest people I know are the ones who remain humbly curious throughout life. They are much like those yoga practitioners who recognize that an asana is never mastered, and always has lessons to teach. Once one has decided that they have nothing left to learn, there they become frozen.
.
Trying this side plank variation for the sake of the challenge. This asana is the first in the Ashtanga third series, so it is not in my daily practice. It’ll be lovely to explore it, if I ever get there!
