  • WHAT IS MAGIC? ✨ • Magic is endless possibilities. Magic is seeing past the surface of the ordinary, imagining all of the incredible opportunities of how it COULD be. It’s believing in metaphors. It’s believing in the incredible. Magic is when we let our inner child shape our perception of reality, when our feet lift off the ground with marvel, with hopes. Let your mind take this stroll tonight. Let the full moon guide the magical way. 🌕✨

  • I’ve been changing up my morning routine to freshen up the start to my day. Instead of waking up to read and drink coffee by the fire, I’ve been rolling out my yoga mat first thing (still with coffee). And these two little fluff balls are loving this change. It’s not the most active practice, but it’s awfully cuddly. 😻 #homepractice #yogawithdogs #yogawithcats #yogaeverydamnday #cuddlepuddle

  • "I did my first yoga class 20 years ago when I was 17 years old. I was studying at Ecole national des arts du cirque to become a professional circus performer"
.
Meet @lindehartmanyoga sharing her #yogasavedmylife story with us. These are her words 💚
.
. "I thought yoga to be boring in those times and didn't enjoy it much. It was only about 15 years later that a discovered this powerful practice
.
As I got older I developed more fear towards my circus performance. The act I did was a dangerous one and little voices about falling to my death started creeping in
.
I developed a daily hatha practice and signed up to do a teachers training in Las Vegas. That where I was living at the time doing 10 shows a week
. My YTT was transformative. I remember that I started looking at the world differently when I meditated everyday and when I started to examine some of my toxic patterns
.
When I got pregnant 3 years ago I stopped performing & moved back to Europe with my husband who got a job offer there . I then completely threw my self into yoga & discovered my great love ashtanga
.
Last year I made my first trip to india to study ashtanga with Sharath jois at KPJAYI for 5 weeks. And I've just returned from there with my daughter after going back to further my studies
.
Yoga has definitely changed me for the better. It's shown me how to understand myself better. To break trough toxic patterns. But it's vital to remember the fact that change is a continuous. I'm evolving constantly and yoga is a tool to help navigate these transformations, we are never done changing and I will forever strive to keep learning, to keep becoming the best version of who I can be in any moment 🙏

  • I love this transition! One of my favorite things to do when I am planning classes is think of new ways to connect two postures together that aren’t the norm.
⠀
Sometimes entering a posture from a different group of muscles is the key!
⠀
Try it!

  • I chose the pose I’ve been teaching in class all this past week: Flying Pigeon. .
Check out the full video for a tutorial:
STEP 1: figure 4 legs in chair pose. This is a great place to work if you have super tight hips. Keep your toes flexed back towards your shin to protect your knee as you draw your tailbone back & reach your chest away from your hips.
STEP 2: fold down & plant your hands firmly in the ground (or blocks). Another great place to work to continue opening up your hips & feel grounded through your hands.
STEP 3: TOE LOCK — this was key for me in this arm balance. Grip your upper arm with your toes to help hug your elbows in together to create a shelf for your shin. Lean your chest super far forward to find the balance to lift your back foot up off the ground.
STEP 4: flex your back toes & tighten your back quad muscles to lift & straight your back leg. There is a balance to be found here between leaning your chest forward & kicking your back leg back.
Other option: stretch your hips in half pigeon. 🙆🏽‍♀️
