  • There is something emotional about seeing macaws in the wild. These birds are so intelligent and so beautiful. Loud and raucous. We live in a beautiful world.

  • So many fun things to see when you stroll the boardwalk in Miraflores. This part definitely reminded me of Gaudi and lots of Barcelona sites. .
.
I need to get myself together and start packing because we leave for Croatia Friday! Where are you headed next?

  • GOCTA 🙌🏻
.
771 metros, 3 era catarata más grande del mundo...
.

  • ⚡VISIT MACHU PICCHU -> ON YOUR BUCKETLIST⚡
Machu Picchu was the highlight of our trip to Peru.
👣
We visited a lot of places when in Peru, we just have 2 left for the next time we will be there: Ica and Nazca.
👣
We mainly saw: Lima, Arequipa, the Colca Canion, Cusco, Titicaca Lake, the Floating Islands, Taquille Island, Juliaca, The Sacred Valley (Moray -the agriculture laboratory, Salineras de Maras, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero) The Inca ruins of Racqi, Puno.
👣
《Our favorite place remains Machu Picchu and we totally recommend you to put it on your bucketlist.》
👣
Have you been to Peru?

  • Did you know Peru has 16 volcanoes?! 🌋 I certainly didn’t, but I was stoked to come across the snow-capped El Misti volcano in Arequipa! 😍🏔 Standing 5,800m above sea level, this is one epic mountain you’ll want to add to your Peru itinerary! 🇵🇪

  • “It’s an irritating reality that many places and events defy description. Angkor Wat and Machu Picchu, for instance, seem to demand silence, like a love affair you can never talk about. For a while after, you fumble for words, trying vainly to assemble a private narrative, an explanation, a comfortable way to frame where you’ve been and what happened. In the end, you’re just happy you were there — with your eyes open — and lived to see it.” -Anthony Bourdain 💚#bourdainday

  • The day has arrived .... I'm at the airport ready to fly to Peru. .
There have been tears this last few days, eight months is a long time when you're saying goodbye, yet it didn't seem that long when I was planning.
.
Let's make it worth it! I'm excited to share the adventure of a lifetime with you all 😁✈️
.
See you in Canada in three months @a.woodsman ❤️
See you in Lima @heidiabbott9 😁

  • El Salto del Fraile, known to expats as the Diving Priest, is located in Chorillos, on a rocky promontory that extend out into the Pacific Ocean. Men dressed in priestly robes dive from the cliff’s edge into the cold Pacific for tips, a re-enactment of the story the restaurant is famous for: a forbidden love story which lead the couple to kill themselves by jumping down these cliffs

  • Arequipa is Peru’s second largest city and is surrounded by three major volcanoes: Chachani, Pichu Pichu, and Misti. Misti is the most prominent of these volcanos standing at a “lowly” 5,825 meters (19,111 ft) above sea level perfectly placed between the other two volcanoes. All three volcanoes can be seen from the Plaza de Armas. Misti shadows the Basilica in this Polaroid. The colonial buildings in the area were all built using the white rock from the volcanoes known as sillar. This is how Arequipa become known as the “White City”. Another much darker reason why Arequipa is known as the white city was the fact that the Spanish conquistadors did not want any natives in the area and thus all of its inhabitants were white.

  • One of my favorite parts of traveling is meeting new friends, even if they’re a little furry. This little guy tagged along for almost an entire day on our way up to the camp site on the Inca Trail. He seemed enjoy the foggy weather we were having (along with little snacks I may have been giving him). Can’t help it, dogs have a way to my heart. Are you a dog or cat person?
