  • Sometimes we forget lessons in life and need a bit of a reminder. Have you ever felt defeated by a mistake? How about, feeling like the storm you are going through will never end? Been trying to lose weight or get healthy and whatever you do just doesn't work, even when you tried the same thing your friend tried and it worked for her? Well, I'm here to tell you that what you've felt or feeling is normal. However, there is so much more for you to experience, but first you have to get your mindset in order. For a year now, I've incorporated practicing gratitude on a daily basis. I highly recommend adding this to your daily routine. It literally takes a few minutes to think about or write it down!
.
Taking the time to think about the things we are grateful for each day can really put things into perspective. If you're having a bad day, going through a difficult personal situation, or feeling unhappy etc, zeroing in on a few positive things each day can be an instant boost of positive energy, and a reminder that even in the toughest of times, we always have something to be thankful for.

I’ve learned that sometimes it isn’t trials that bring us down or ourselves - it’s stress.
Stress is a silent killer. 
You don’t realize the dramatic effects until the stress leaves your body. 
It affects your memory, it affects your mood, it affects your ability to process your environment, and especially as an athlete it affects your ability to compete. 
I was stressed for a long time over a bunch of things and it took heart palpitations and frequently getting sick to realize how bad it is.
Now that, by the grace of God, everything I was stressed about has worked itself out, I see the difference. My complexion looks better. It looks like the collagen is back in my skin. I felt like I was beginning to look 10 years older. Athletically, I lost my kipping pull ups for a long time and now I have them back.
I also learned the importance of giving the body rest after stress. I’ve been resting a lot. 
I’ve been slightly inconsistent at the gym and I haven’t been to as many shows as I would like. 
Without rest, the body can’t heal properly and it’s impossible to get after your goals. 
Most important things I’ve learned: Don’t stress, get after your grind, but don’t forget the importance of rest 💞💜
