  • World Aids Day 2019. Remembrance. Honestly, I think Michael was one of the most beautiful men I had ever seen. I still imagine I spy him, from time to time, whenever I pass a hair salon with one of those ‘90s style ads in their windows. I am always taken aback for a moment. Michael could have been one of those perfectly feathered, bright eyed, eternally handsome models gracing one of those slick & fashionable pictorials. Frankly, he was unattainable, untouchable almost. But I used to write him little poems on bar napkins and slip them to him as he bartended at various clubs in Boystown. He would give me my Coca-Colas for free and throw ice cubes across rooms at me if I didn’t say “Hello” quickly enough…if I got too distracted by my friends or cruising some other equally unreachable gent. Honestly, I can’t remember having a significant conversation about the world at large or my life in general with him. But he always made me feel special, made me feel a little less socially insignificant in a period of time when I truly felt I was. The world is a profoundly less wonderful place because he is no longer here to do that for some other young, eternally questioning soul. #WorldAidsDay #WorldAidsDay2019 #gratitude #remembrance #remembrancesunday #lgbtqia

Podczas obchodów ludzie oddają hołd🙏 bohaterom biorąc udział w oficjalnych uroczystościach i marszach.

During our weekend in London we came across a special holiday. The Remembrance Sunday, which takes place every year on the second Sunday in November, is Memorial Sunday. On this day we remember those who gave their lives in the fight⚔ for their homeland. This is a very important holiday for the British. His symbol are poppies, which are attached to the chest, like our hearts of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity❤. During the celebrations, people pay tribute🙏 to the heroes by participating in official celebrations and marches. The photo presents a procession heading to the Monument to London Soldiers. Curious, we watched the ceremony in which various state personalities, services and formations💂‍♂️ take part. At 11:00 everyone was silent for two minutes of silence. It was a very interesting experience, we could learn a piece of the history of the country🇬🇧 that we visited. Have you ever had the opportunity to participate in the celebration of a holiday while traveling?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Y13 ART - this larger than life portrait is charming us all. The artist told me: “He’s a very lovely 98 year old man called John Graham! he served in the Royal Artillery in WW2, joining up when he was 20. he’s lived in York all his life, has some excellent stories and is very chatty.” #portrait #face #painting #veteran #ww2 #soldier #poppy #remembrancesunday @ediepencils

  • Kate dressed in an elegant black ensemble to remember those who sacrificed their lives during the world war on #RemembranceSunday.
The new military style bespoke Alexander McQueen coat features a zip and structured shoulders.
Kate wore a black hat with netting veil, believed to be a piece from Philip Treacy.
The Duchess accessorised with the Queen's Bahrain pearl drop earrings, a pair which she has worn on multiple occasions.
She completed the look with the red poppy codebreakers brooch, a notable nod to her paternal grandmother Valerie Glassborrow and her twin sister Mary, who worked at Bletchley Park during the war.

  • The beauty of the poppy is that it's not white, black or brown
.
It's red, like the blood that flows through us all
.
‪This is my Great Grandfather, Hira Singh‬, who served in WW1 & WW2 under the British.
.
I wear a poppy to honour him & everyone else that fought for our freedoms
.
Next time you say, ”you people”, remember him
.
All of our communities made sacrifices 🙏🏾
