  • Not feeling motivated? That’s okay, chances are most people go to the gym or workout at home without feeling “motivated.” For some reason we have instilled in our heads that the gym is a place you go to so that you can get in shape, lose weight or gain muscle, and although that’s good, it’s the wrong mindset. You ever go to the doctor and they relate your weight to being healthy? Or they ask if you’re getting at least 30 min of exercise a day? This is where this need of “motivation” comes from, because you relate working out to being a chore. Workout out is more than just looking better and being a certain weight, it’s something you do to forget about the little problems in life for a little bit, for mental health,to give your body the attention it deserves, to keep yourself healthy and for many other reasons. It’s normal to never feel motivated, and I almost never am, because working out isn’t something you should be motivated for, it should be something you look forward to with a change in mindset.

  • LEGS: kept this workout short simple but effective since I was running short on time. Quad focused. 
1. Squats 3x3 haven’t really focused on my squats so I’m happy that I still have some strength 🙏🏻 then dropped for pause squats 3x3
2. Bulgarian split squat w/ one dumbbell 5x6 each leg cause it felt amazinggg 
3. Leg extensions 5x7 (1 rep= 1 pause 2 secs + 1 full) after last set do a burnout my quads got HELLAAA pumped after this 🎈

  • I personally, like I feel a lot of people neglect doing abs therefore I do not have the strongest core, however we are working on it 
Why is doing ab work important? No it’s not because it targets belly fat. You can’t spot reduce fat which if you don’t know that by now, you should!

To lose fat you have to lose it everywhere 
However working out your abs lead to better form with compound lifts, helps become less prone to injuries, also you get better overall stability. 
You get better at pull ups and push ups! 
Don’t it just train your ab muscle because it will “burn the fat” 
Train those muscle so you become a stronger version of yourself

- Been MIA for a few days as far as posting on here. 
Today I went back to the gym, other than going to the gym here at my apartment. Felt good to go back there, to focus a little more on my 🍑! Hip Thrusts have become my fav. 🙌🏼 • Proud to say I got a nice sesh at the gym and then went straight into my quick 30 mins workout of MM100. 🙌🏼😬

  • I had a friend recently point out to me that I was not engaging my pelvic floor and core during my workouts (blessing of recording movements and putting them out there for the world to see). I am always open to feedback.  Luckily she gave me some good resources to check out to help strengthen those troubled areas. 
I tried out several new movements today but by far my favorite was this uneven squat into a knee drive. Also really enjoyed seated kettlebell marches.

  • I wanted to write this post to tell you all to not be hard yourselves but that’d be very hypocritical. ⁣

I focus a lot on how much room for improvement I have and neglect how much progress I’ve made physically, mentally, and nutrition wise. ⁣
⁣
Here’s a list of habits I’ve developed that have helped me be a little easier on myself and hopefully will help you too!⁣
⁣
1. Take A LOT of pictures. I wish I had more pictures from when I first started working out to see how different I look now but I waited until I felt like I had worked hard/long enough to take pictures.⁣
⁣
2. Be mindful of the difference of needing a day or even a week off the gym if it’s what you need or your schedule just won’t allow it. But be careful not to use this as an excuse you’re telling yourself to skip the gym. ⁣
⁣
3. Don’t cut out sweets. I’ve tried so many times to do this and I don’t think it’s realistically something I’ll ever be able to do 😂 If one cookie keeps you on track for the day by all means EAT THE COOKIE!! ⁣

4. If you hate something in the gym don’t do it!! If you aren’t doing workouts that you enjoy it’s going to be a lot harder to stay on track. If you want to do cardio but hate running, don’t run! There are so many other options biking, rowing, HIIT, the stair master, try them all until you find one that you can somewhat enjoy!⁣

  • This lighting is doing me justice okurrr 😩🤓 Two wins today: I did my first weighted chin up today & I was able to add 10 pounds!!! (LIKE WHAT) Annnd I hip thrusted 315 for 5 reps!!! I just love getting stronger day by day & hitting goals after goals. Best feeling e v e r. 💓💪🏼

1) I’ve seen some crazzyyy arches out there in the powerlifting world ie. some where the ROM looks like it’s less than an inch and I always thought that was ridiculous. But listen ROM is a real bish sooooo I will be here trying to turn my arch into something that will have the essence of what some may call an exorcism.... Every gym bros nightmare. YoUr gONna hURt YoUR bACk 
2) This is the first time I’ve ever done a workout in just a sports bra and girrlllllll. Life changing for a sweaty monster like me. Does make me feel a wee self conscious but thankfully my leggings were high waisted AF. #makingmoves🐢 •

  • Some days, my mind gets the best of me.

Yesterday I went in for a chest/tricep workout and bruh it was 🔥 I didn’t record it so I could keep my head in the game but ze workout is below so like, save, & tag your gym partner for your next workout!

Okay so, we had a lot of snacks at work yesterday because it was my coworkers birthday and I definitely indulged because @duckdonuts has my heart 🍩❤️. However ... by the time I got to the gym I felt hella bloated, was silently cursing myself out for only bringing a crop with me to the gym, and was prepared to have a shitty lift because of how I felt.

I got to the gym, felt bloated.
I got changed, felt bloated.
Looked in the mirror ... did nahhhht look bloated.

I was so in my head about how I felt when in reality, I looked fine. Some days it’s more about how you look than how you feel and some days it’s more about how you feel than how you look 🤷🏽‍♀️.
.
Bottom line: beating yourself up isn’t gonna do 💩 for you and you’ll likely feel differently tomorrow.

I hope that makes sense 😂. Anyways, here’s the workout!

BB press:
Warm up: 4 x 12 @ 40lbs, 10 @ 70lbs, 4 @ 80lbs, 1 @ 90lbs.
Working: 3 x 6-9 @ 90lbs.

4 x 8:
Incline close grip DB chest press | 3s down, 3s up.

3 x 15-20:
Rope pull downs | 2 ropes (this video). 3 sets:
8 Mid flyes.
10 push-ups.

4 x12:
BB skull crushers.
Lying leg lifts. -

  • Not feeling motivated? That’s okay, chances are most people go to the gym or workout at home without feeling “motivated.” For some reason we have instilled in our heads that the gym is a place you go to so that you can get in shape, lose weight or gain muscle, and although that’s good, it’s the wrong mindset. You ever go to the doctor and they relate your weight to being healthy? Or they ask if you’re getting at least 30 min of exercise a day? This is where this need of “motivation” comes from, because you relate working out to being a chore. Workout out is more than just looking better and being a certain weight, it’s something you do to forget about the little problems in life for a little bit, for mental health,to give your body the attention it deserves, to keep yourself healthy and for many other reasons. It’s normal to never feel motivated, and I almost never am, because working out isn’t something you should be motivated for, it should be something you look forward to with a change in mindset.
