  • Daily movement is key for any goal. It will help prevent injury, maintain weight, protect joints, and regulate energy levels. You don’t have to go hard in the gym 6-7 days per week to see results. Your body will actually thank you if you give it rest. When we say rest, it doesn’t mean you have to sit on the couch and do nothing. You can easily add in a mobility session like this one! .

  • You’d never know from modern life today but movement is as inherent to our being as breathing, eating, sleeping, and drinking water .

We were made to move .

I had a conversation with a client this morning where she mentioned that when she told her doctor she was experiencing more discomfort than she thought was normal after her Orange Theory workouts he told her that was just a part of getting older .

What?!

.
No. Not at all. .
.
.
Moving her (your) body is one of the best things she (you) could be doing for herself (yourself). .
.
.
If her workouts are causing her discomfort, she can work to increase the capacity of the joints required to do the actions / movements that she wants to do ..
.

.
But what was the doctors next suggestion? Stop moving?!
.
.
.
I don’t recommend it, but you can test out the power of movement for yourself. Set aside a three week period of time… And don’t do anything. .
.
.
No walking, other than to work or school. No consistent exercise. No yoga. No stretching. Nothing other than your daily activities like brushing your teeth, showering, cooking food, going to work, and going to sleep.

Do only those things for a consistent three weeks and then see how you feel ...

(Or don’t and keep rocking out your regular workouts knowing that #movementismedicine and #movementiseverything .. but it’s an interesting idea to consider) .

As a lifelong supporter of the club, whose been going to the ground since the age of 5 and coming from a family who’ve supported the club through generations, a special occasion.

Even managed to get a goal.

  • A lot of things keep shifting across the horizons lately. Like a quick switch of the eyes darting, I’m seeing what I want vs what is real. They don’t always align. 
Let’s be real right now. For some of you I’m just another swipe across the screen of your feed. For some of you I might take up the few moments space to read a caption. But let me share something with you that has hit me in the jaw recently. 
I am doing the best that I can. Right now I’m living in China, in a city where I’ve managed to build some pretty cool things almost entirely on my own. I’ve struggled with barriers and challenges too many to name. I’ve gotten to a point where I wanted to get out and have been itching under the surface to just remove myself from all of it. The good feeling diminished as it sat in the shadows of the hard stuff. But this is what I want to leave with you. 
The thing that is the dividing line here is mindset. It has always been this way. Allowing myself to accept what is and move forward anyway. To not fall victim to the lies I am telling myself. This is the opportunity to be grounded in the now, in the present — when what I’ve often been doing thus far is remain chained to the future (and inevitably the suffering that follows.) The future that shifts and changes with the wind. Nothing about that is certain. 
And so here is another opportunity. It awaits me. It is entirely up to me to make use of it. #gobebrave
