  • September 10 is World Suicide Prevention Day. πŸŒπŸ’šπŸŽ—οΈ According to World Health Organization's first global report πŸŒπŸ“ˆ on suicide prevention, more than 800,000 people die by suicide every year – around one person every 40 seconds ⏱️. Some 75% of suicides occur in low- and middle-income countries. In the Philippines, seven Filipinos die of suicide every day, with 2.5 in male, 1.7 in female, and intentional self-harm is the 9th leading cause of death among the 20-24 years old (Department of Health, 2003). According to the National Youth Assessment Study conducted by the @nycpilipinas in 2015, 14% of Filipino youths interviewed thought of ending their lives.

To combat this problem, early identification and effective management are key to ensuring that people receive the care they need. On the World Suicide Prevention Day, @who launched the campaign β€œForty Seconds of Action” ⏰, a coordinated action and awareness to reduce suicides around the world. Together with the @pmhaofficial, @youthformentalhealthcoalition, Mindanao Youth for Mental Health, help the WHO spread this campaign by showing how you take care of yourself and your mental health by using the hashtag: #40seconds.

Send your support by spreading the word! Post now. πŸ˜‰ Let us encourage each other that we can all take positive actions πŸ’ͺ to promote mental health and positive well-being πŸ’š! Remember, help is AVAILABLE.

πŸ“Cotabato City. Cotabato derives its name from the Maguindano word "kuta wato", meaning "stone fort", referring to the stone fort which served as the seat of Sultan Muhammad Kudarat.
When in Cotabato City, you can visit The Grand Mosque, also known as "Sultan Hadji Hassanal Bolkiah Masjid" name after the Sultan of Brunei who reportedly helped fund its construction. You can hire Habal-habal or Payong-payong (Tricycle) to get you to the Grand Mosque.

  • All the love that awaits in the present moment! I truly believe that what is called "enlightment" is just being present all the time. Its for everybody. And ever since I was a kid, I have fallen into time-lapses of what I call "extended conciousness" (utvidet bevissthet) - where I was conciously aware of the moment as a continued state - for hours, even days. The longest was a week and it was so blissful that I swore to try to stay in it as much as I could, forever. That didnt happen, of course. The "paradise" is right here, within all of us, yet so hard to reach. In periods where I practice more presence, aka selflove, I notice that it is like waking up. Everything becomes more vibrant, colourful, clear. The fog in my brain, that I am unaware of in my daily life, liftens, and I walk around in awe of how beautiful life is. Everyone is so beautiful! I see everything more clear - how it plays itself out in its own logical pattern and I know whats "going on", if you understand what I mean? Its so much easier to see and feel others intention, and although I dont know what is going to happen, I still do. Its hard to explain, but I see and feel and perceive much, much bigger. It is such a natural, alive and loving state that allowd me to realize what a miracle we all are - the life, the plan, the love - its never ending, constantly flowing - and it is within us, around us. And I dont claim to have any answers, I dont know all the paths. I just know that drugs are not the way, that there are no way to cheat yourself to it. Whatever you will experience that way will still be just twisting the brain. I believe in normal day to day, hour to hour, moment to moment experience of awakening the senses and the occational silence behind the senses. Nothing special, nothing exeptional - yet wonderful clear conciousness. Love is everything, yet nothing. Its not sentimental at all. Yet, in that state, I feel everyone. Oh, the compassion is overwhealming. The hardest part is actually...TIME. The timeconcept. Getting places in time...when you are in a timeless space. The whole idea of you as a rat in the ratrace - looses its meaning.

  • I have been working on three things lately:
1. Letting go of everything that is possible to let go of. I have stepped down from teaching on the indian embassys International day of yoga-celebration (that was hard). I have let the grass grow in the the garden - it now looks like a minijungle (that was easy). I have done less cleaning, redecorating and worked more efficient. 2. I have meditated and practiced shavasana every day, and tried to go to bed before 23.00 (11 p.m). 3. I have tried to center my awareness in my heart and my breath or rather imagining that I am breathing with my heart.
And I feel so happy and loved! Instead of putting labels on people and situations, I concentrate more on just feeling my senses. The labels we use is often a bigger problem than the situations itself. To see life more clearly we can experience instead of mentalizing. I am. You are.

Photo: this was fun! This is actually an OSTRICH-egg that I have had for 20 years! I photographed it and used it as a frame. Trying to think in new patterns.
