  • It’s funny how a photograph can transport you back to the moment it was taken, in as little as a second, just the time for your eyes to glance over these waves of light. It’s only been a year since I was driving North the US-395, but my year has been so filled with adventures since then, that it already feels like a lifetime ago. Yes, I’m still somehow trying to get to terms with this whole time thing going faster and faster the older I get.
During that time on the road, I fell head over heels with that corner of the world and California as a whole. I spent a whole week on the Coast first, and then I took off, on a road trip on my own for the first time in a while. I remember vividly the landscapes changing and going from green and lush to dry and arid, my right hand on the steering wheel, my left arm feeling the wind out of the window and my eyes delighted by the sceneries that were unfolding before them. I was singing to The Smiths on the top of my lungs and stopping (to sing) only to order some iced latte in good hipster coffee shops just after a sunrise mission. Death Valley, Mono Lake, Bodie, all these places have marked me, and I can’t imagine ever forgetting about my time over there. And luckily, I know that I never forget taking a photograph, that when that click comes out loud and strong, it’s not only the light that’s captured inside my camera, it’s also all my feelings and emotions linked to that place. Photography is a little bit magic, don’t you think? #roadtripcalifornia
