  • When people ask me what I do.....well, lol🤪..sometimes I throw up snow and laugh uncontrollably in cute sweaters and freezing weather❄️ sometimes, I edit til 4 in the morning and look at pictures for far too long😝but for those REALLY wanting to know..i am a photographer. I take pictures of everything from families to headshots to commercial properties to everyone’s favorite..weddings! I also take pictures for and operate social media platforms for businesses and meet with business owners to elevate their social media game. I was a teacher for 8 years! I taught elementary pe for the last 5, middle school special education for 2, and high school health my first year! Yaaa a 22 year old talking to high schoolers about drugs, alcohol, & stds..that was fun😂😂 I have a bachelors of science in health & pe from the University of Kansas {rock chalk} and a masters in special education from Baker University. I have always taken a ton of photos but I started doing it as a side hustle in 2016ish (is it sad I don’t really remember what year it really was?😂) because 1. I loved it and 2. I needed the money since mama likes to spend and was always broke💸🤪 At the end of last school year, I finally (against my dad’s will..sorry dad😉) quit my secure job and took a leap of faith into doing what I love! If I’m being real, sometimes it still feels like I’m on summer break lol and then I walk outside and it’s snowing. I am enjoying every moment of this learning experience and growing my business. I wake up every day grateful for all of the opportunities and this life god has blessed me with. It’s weird because it seems like the days and weeks go by SO fast and I’m constantly finding myself wanting them to slow down!!!! While I enjoyed my teaching job(s), it took me a long time to find my passion and to find what I was destined to do and to be. I struggled a lot with finding myself and something I was good at. I never really knew I had a talent until I started following my heart and decided to try to just start doing things that genuinely made me HAPPY in THAT moment and then focusing on the good and continuing to chase the happy. continued in comments...

  • How bout those Chiefs?! I was so close to getting my dream Super Bowl match up of my beloved @packers against a team I grew up with and can’t help but support. But it didn’t happen. Nonetheless, how can I not be pumped for the @chiefs and all my family and friends who have relentlessly supported them through the years? Let’s goooo! Bring the Lombardi to KC!

  • After meditating on ways to show up with this happy little small business other than simply posting and hoping somebody buys, I’m going to start doing a weekly wear it series where I style a funky vintage piece 3 ways.

It might be photographs. It might be video. It might be YouTube? That is still TBD, but basically I want to find ways to actually serve who comes to this page, rather than every post be solicitation.
Selling vintage clothes is amazing, but the most sustainable clothes are the ones you actually wear; this is my way of helping you find new ways to see old pieces.
Much love ✨🌙 Photo by @blch_blond ❤️

  • Ever wonder if recycling really is going to save the world? Wonder if doing more would just consume your whole life? Let’s figure it out. With the help of scientists. 😁💚🌱 #greenlife #kansascity

  • Happy Lunar New Year! The Nelson has an amazing event today, we got to play Chinese Chess (Jack beat Papa 😬), make origami rats, have some Chinese snacks and see some fun exhibits and demonstrations. Turns out 2020 is the year of the rat, and according to the Chinese Zodiac, Jack and I were both born in rat years! That should mean good things for us this year 🤞🏼 #nelsonatkins #kc #kansascity #lunarnewyear2020 #yearoftherat

  • Kobe freaking Bryant and his daughter died today. It broke the internet and many are heart broken, as they should be.
-
But as I’m scrolling through all of these posts I can’t help to think “why aren’t people treating their own lives and the people around them like they are treating his life and him?”
-
You could literally die tomorrow. That is the most overused and underrated statement we say. People don’t understand that that is actually true. Yet we are living like we have a guaranteed 80 years and we waste so much of our damn time on stuff that doesn’t matter and stuff that doesn’t benefit us.
-
“I’ll forgive them when they deserve it.” “I’ll spend time with my family when I’m not as busy.” “I’ll start working towards my passion after I make some money.” “I’ll tell them I love them when I’m ready.” “I’ll start taking care of my body on Monday.”
-
Kobe freaking Bryant died. Death does not discriminate. Stop treating your life as if you have all of this time. Get out of freaking bed. Stop being a piece of shit. Stop holding grudges. Love the people around you. I’m sure yesterday Kobe wasn’t thinking “I might die tomorrow.” But atleast he can look at his life and say he gave his all to what set his soul on fire and loved those around him to the fullest. Can you say the same?

  • A VERY SPECIAL COLLABORATION!!!! ❤️🏈💛 This week, fan-favorite "Dirty Dan" Sorensen and Love Letters owner LeAnn Cruce discovered they had a connection far deeper and more important than just a love for football and Kansas City. Both Dan and LeAnn lost their fathers to devastating battles with Parkinson's Disease. Dan's father passed away in April and LeAnn's father passed away in 2006. So when Dan's wife Whitney approached Love Letters to collaborate on a tee-shirt to benefit the Parkinson's Foundation, we were honored!
We couldn't ❤️ this tee-shirt more, or the amazing cause it helps (not to mention how much we love number 49 and his momentum-changing plays this postseason)! Please join us in being Gameday ready by purchasing this tee with 100% of profits benefiting the Parkinson's Foundation! ***These shirts will ship Monday and arrive in plenty of time for the Big Game!
