  • What works | What does not work 💡
You most definitely do not need to starve yourself, eating like a rabbit to lose weight!

What we do know, creating a lifestyle which works for you and fuelling yourself appropriately with unadulterated foods is going to be the easiest and simplistic foundation to reach your goals!
.
Losing weight the healthy way may take more time but it will leave you feeling so much better overall! Eating in a slight calorie deficit while paying attention to the quality of our food, getting movement in, hydrating and picking up healthy habits along the way is where the magic happens. Here are my tips on how to lose weight the healthy way:
.
1️⃣ Stop drinking your calories. Chewing your food is more satiating whilst improving digestion.
2️⃣ Limit the processed foods you eat.
3️⃣ Add tons of seasonal fibrous veggies to your dishes! This will add loads of volume.
4️⃣ Make sure you’re getting an adequate amount of protein. This will help you feel full and stimulate mTOR particular in the morning leading to improved leptin signalling in the hypothalamus.
5️⃣ Add in some healthy fats. Fats are super important for cholesterol the backbone of all hormones and the absorption of certain vitamins and phytonutrients.
6️⃣ Fasting might be a viable option which may suit your lifestyle, stress levels and depending on your leptin sensitivity. It also allows a shorter eating window to accommodate more food. However, it’s not a magic bullet and like with “calorie deficits” long term may jeopardise your relationship with food and a modern lifestyle.
Finally, Don’t eat in a restriction or fear mindset. Make decisions which empower you, not only for today but for tomorrow and etc. Be your own guru. Your the C.E.O of your food choices and most importantly LIFE

  • Everyone deserves to be happy. For the past year and some months, I’ve been living life so freely. This doesn’t mean my life is prefect, is far from perfect. Perfect to me honestly doesn’t even exist. My spirits has been on a high. I only surround myself with pure and generous people. I practice to see the good in everything, I have my moments but I always remind myself that I am blessed and should be grateful about where I am currently in life. Situations can be better or even worst but it’s up to us as to make the right choices to keep our sanity. Hope this caption inspires someone to be better, to be happy , to continue to go harder in whatever it is you find yourself struggling in if that’s mentally, spiritually, financially, toxic relationships, etc. have faith and hope. I promise all would be well, smile through it all, there’s good in every situation.

  • In honor of transformation tuesssday, here’s a little different kind of transformation. These are 4 years apart...I’m wearing the same exact clothes and tried to position myself the same way. I’m not saying I look better or worse in any of these pictures, they are just different and they reflect my own personal fitness journey. I think I had just started lifting weights in the picture on the left and I was pretty comfortable with tracking my macros. I wanted to gain muscle mass but I was also very uncomfortable gaining weight. I weighed almost 10 pounds less than I do now. The picture on the right, I’m still lifting weights (though I just started back up consistently after a long time off) and I eat more intuitively and try to eat “clean” 80% of the time. I am also more comfortable in my body and don’t freak out at the scale if the numbers go up a little. Not every journey is about weight loss, some of us want to be curvier and stronger.🙋🏻‍♀️ And putting on muscle mass has allowed me to actually eat more and have more of the foods I like, like pasta (I don’t do zoodles guys, nope 🙅🏻‍♀️). So there ya go...hopefully my next transformation pic doesn’t show me completely falling off the wagon with CRNA school! 😬😝.
