  • Post-Show Update: It’s been almost 3 weeks since the summer shredding classic😱 time flys!! Even though I kinda miss prep some days, I’m also really enjoying getting to eat out, going on date nights again and not having to be so strict.

I am slowly increasing food and decreasing cardio because slow and steady wins the reverse diet race🐢 I am a couple pounds up from my stage weight but I also want to maintain a leaner physique for the next few months. My workouts are feeling amazing since I have more energy to push harder and lift heavier, which feels so dang good😅 Just overall very happy and feeling great post show☺️

  • Cleaning out the fridge and made this mouth-watering salmon, air fried Japanese sweet potatoes, broccolini, and greens before our trip to New York to visit family! 🥰🗽Brad, his brother, cousins, and uncle are in a fishing tournament this weekend so wish them luck! 🎣

Salmon: Season wild Alaskan @butcher_box salmon with  honey chipotle seasoning, sea salt, and pepper. Drizzle @primalkitchenfoods avocado oil on a pan. Add salmon skin side up and cook 1-2 minutes on medium heat. Flip onto its skin, cover the pan and finish cooking 3-8 minutes (I usually do 6). Peel skin prior to serving✨
• air-fryed japanese sweet potatoes Directions:
Wash and dry sweet potatoes. Slice into wedges or fries. Spray potatoes liberally with avocado oil spray or drizzle with avocado oil. Season with garlic and salt. Place in air-frier. Cook on “fries setting” flipping  halfway through to ensure they fry evenly. (My air-fryer’s settings: 390 F for 16-19 minutes). Times vary.
•roasted broccolini, @organicgirl spinach and avocado + pepitas drizzled with @primalkitchenfoods ranch ✨

Since they’re so many breads on the market, thought I would share a full breakdown of some of the better choices out there and why you should skip out on white bread.

White wonder bread - is usually highly processed, which means that a lot of the essential nutrients (minerals, B vitamins, proteins, fiber, healthy fats, and germ layers) are lost. After this process all that is left is endosperm, which contains all the starch without much nutrient density.
.
Sprouted ezekiel bread - is great for many reasons and is my personal fav! It contains different types of grains & legumes & has no added sugar. Sprouting increases the nutrient levels & availability in the grains it has more nutritional value than most other breads.

Sourdough bread - It’s prebiotic content and probiotic-like properties in addition to the fermentation process improve its nutrition profile in several ways. Whole grain sourdoughs contain higher levels of folate and antioxidants than most other breads in addition to more mineral content. To make sure that you’re getting “true” sourdough bread, I suggest buying it from a farmer's market or a local bakery that you trust. :)

Whole wheat bread - keep the all parts of the grain intact (the germ, bran, and endosperm). The bran and germ are also full of protein, fat, vitamins, and minerals. A lot of companies label their breads as “whole wheat”, despite the fact that they’re mostly made of refined flour. To get the best whole wheat bread, make sure the first ingredient is 100% whole-wheat or whole-grain flour & check for added sugars &/or oils. :D

Paleo / gluten free bread - Many paleo breads are made from almond or coconut flour and happen to also be gluten-free. I suggest looking for  paleo breads that are made from these flours because they tend to be lower in carbs and calories, but higher in protein and fiber than loaves made from other grains.

Flaxseed bread - Flaxseed bread is made primarily from whole-grain flours and flax seeds. Out of the breads, it’s one of the more nutritious kinds you can eat. It is extremely low in sugar and full of an omega-3 fatty acid, alpha-linolenic acid (ALA).

🧡lunch is a shake on the go (1 scoop @ancientnutrition bone broth protein, 1 scoop collagen, 1 Tbsp almond butter, 1 frozen banana, and unsweetened almond milk) paired with 1/4 cup cashews⁣

💚dinner is lentil noodles with chicken, homemade Alfredo sauce, and vegetables of choice ⁣

💖snack is caramel dark chocolate squares with organic strawberries 😋⁣

This is around 1,800-1,900 calories ⁣

This is a typical day for me this week however everyday is different! Sometime I eat less and sometimes I indulge more. I take it one day at a time and try not to stress the numbers too much! —

  • Accountability Post!

I know that it seems like the majority of the people are always trying to lose weight. My struggle has always been to put on weight. ( I know, crazy right!? ) I’ve always wanted to weigh 200 pounds and I haven’t had success in achieving that yet. I feel that’s what I think and believe will be my “perfect” body for myself. I find myself having to eat around 5-6 pounds of food daily to get up near there. It’s overwhelming and really hard for me. I’ve lost a lot of weight recently and it’s time to get to my goal of 200 pounds! Here’s to day 1 of really pushing myself to get to where I want to be 💪

We all struggle sometimes! Stay strong and be positive! 🙌
