Researchers based at London’s Royal College of Art 🇬🇧 were recently tasked with using robotics 🤖 to help people with their jobs. A group came up with a robotic steering wheel that can be used by taxi drivers 🚖 working for companies like Uber.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The wheel can be fitted onto a regular steering wheel and features an inflatable 🎈 silicon insert. This connects to a navigation system and can keep the driver focused on the road 🛣, rather than on the screen. How? When the driver needs to turn, the correct side of the wheel (left or right) will inflate slightly. Not only does this help with navigation but it also improves the comfort of the driver 👍. It’s only a research project for now but could become a reality, paving the way for humans and robots to work in unison.

Electrified roads 🛣 could well be the future. A test track in Sweden 🇸🇪 has been devised for the eRoadArlanda project; a road that can charge cars 🚗, trucks 🚛, and buses 🚌. The road has a rail built into it which is connected to the power grid. Energy ☇ can be directly transferred to car batteries via a movable arm which attaches underneath the vehicle.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As well as making life easier for drivers, the project is quick 🕔 to assemble (installation of a one-kilometer rail only takes an hour), doesn’t block the driver’s vision 👀 and will reduce 📉 carbon emissions too.

  • 🌟 So the star has been Electrified! Is there a glimmer of Blue hope through the clouds? And what did you guys think⁉️🤔 I spoke about adding artificial sound, the reality of the range which I found good, BUT most of all how comfortable the car was. S Class Level! Eventually I think the EQ brand will simply vanish, as all MBs will have this tech. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Would you have one? Let’s talk below.
