It’s so important to ensure we are getting enough protein in especially when losing body fat.⁣

We are hitting the weights trying to build muscle.⁣

To build muscle we need protein.⁣

We are in a calorie deficit meaning we are eating under our maintenance calories.⁣
⁣
So we should be losing weight....⁣
⁣
We don’t want that weight to come from muscle.⁣
⁣
Aim for 1-1.5g per lbs of body weight ⚖️ ⁣Spaced throughout the day. Doesn’t matter if its 2 meals or 6 meals.⁣

Having a SMART goal is a great way to get going, all these factors are key to achieving your goals and because they work so well together it’ll motivate you even more!

  • 💥 Is Squat Depth Important? 💥 I polled this question yesterday after my session last night, just to gauge what the general consensus was, and majority of you (80%) said it was! Now there are split opinions on this in the industry, but I sit somewhere in the middle..... IMO If your goal i.e lifting a heavy squat clean, that requires good range to drop low under the bar, or you're lifting to improve the quality of your life, moving better pain free, then achieving good range is 🔑 l

However, there will be some scenario's where range isn't a vital component, and could even be a slight hinderence, especially from a sporting performance perspective! Therefore it's 🔑 to initially identify if "full" range is required 👍

So, if depth is specific to your goal, then it's absolutely important. On the flip side, if it's not essential, then the main thing is performing a movement efficiently and pain free #smarttraining

  • Great super set combo for your chest to kick off your push routine, or to end your pec workout. It’s more of a mechanical super set bc your just changing positions with the same machine.

Position yourself right under the cable apparatus. Not out in front but beneath it. Start with a cable cross over where you are bringing the cables down and not across. Similar to an arc right down to your hips. Go to failure where you can’t complete another rep full range or even 3/4 full range.

Take a step or two forward and now you’ll bring the cables across, almost like a fly. Now the arc will be in front of you. Because this position you’ll be stronger, you won’t have to lighten the weight at all. Just change the position.
