  • Mackenzie and I have just got over her first stint of being sick! Can it please be the last? 🤞🤪 It was a horrible experience and I am not sure why it effected me so much! I felt like I was feeling everything she was and then I made it worse by questioning how it would have happened 😞 #mumguilt

On Sunday night she started to get snotty and had a cough and was crying like she was in pain! She would only sleep on me for two nights so safe to say I did not get much sleep 😅 that probably made me even more emotional, as before that she was sleeping for 8 hour stints 🙌

Thank goodness Kelvin was there to help as it was a two man job! Luckily it only lasted a day and a few nights then she was back to normal! We did everything from nasal spray, steam showers, breastmilk up her nose, essential oils. I even sucked the snot out of her nose 😆 yes I know it’s nasty but whatever worked and that seemed to! I said to kelvin don’t expect this when your sick 😂

Tuesday morning she was back to her happy self! Amazing how quickly they get over it!
I now see it as another new experience in parenthood that I have learnt from! I now know what to do, how not to beat myself up and how it will pass and everything will be ok 👌
Mums and dads I have a question for you.. What are your best remedies for sick kids? 🙂 let us know in the comments below 👇

  • WIR 💕
Das sind wir ? Patchwork , zwei Kinder .

  • "Last Month was Breastfeeding Awareness Month. So I figured id drop some knowledge on my fellow Dads and soon to be Dads. Here's what it looks like for the first few weeks or months after your child is born. Yup if mom breastfeeds they pretty much are tucked like this and at times you'll wonder 'what is there for me to do?' Here's my top 5 tips for any Dad after your child is born.
1. For night feedings. When mom wakes up in the middle of the night. You get up and ask if she needs any help or water. The truth is most of the time she will say no but just the fact that you offered will go far.
2. Ask mom if she can pump and then pick 1 feeding that you will always do. Mom will take on almost everything and will burn herself out if you let her. At times you may have to force her to rest without worrying about the baby. This is an easy way to do that without a fight.
3. Don't put a time limit on how long mom breastfeed the baby. It's not just about feeding your child it's about them bonding as well. I know everyone has a different length of time they will breastfeed and as a Dad it's hard to fully understand. Do not I repeat DO NOT try and rush this process it's not our place and it's not safe. You will open yourself up to a fight you can't win.
4. Be patient. I know as a Dad the first few weeks we are equally excited and yet not as important yet. Your time will come faster than you know. Babies grow fast and the stronger bigger they get the more Daddy Time will be coming your way.
5. Paternity leave! If you have it TAKE IT. The early stages of a childs life are not just for moms to enjoy. I know as men making the money especially after having a baby but trust me. You can always make money but there are no instant replays in life. It doesn't make you more of a man to not take the leave. It's equally as important that you as a Dad get to be a part of the early development of your child." 🙌 via @ChroniclesofDaddy

  • “Jared and I met in highschool, we started dating in 2009 and have been together almost eleven years now. we got married in December of 2018 and decided to start trying to have a baby right after that, fast forward just TWO months and it was rodeo season in our town, I was feeling a little off and jared swore I was pregnant, since we were drinking I decided to take a pregnancy test.. it came up negative and we were pretty sad about it. but for some reason jared just knew I was pregnant. two weeks later I missed my period, I took a test and it was Positive!!! we were so excited. we told our close family members and just soaked up every second of the idea that we get to have a sweet little baby soon.
around week 6 of my pregnancy I experienced bleeding, we called our doctor and went into our first ever appointment, the news was heart breaking as they told us due to certain concerns we were most likely having a miscarriage. we were devastated but decided to get a second opinion, four days later our new doctor said we had a viable pregnancy and that our bleeding was normal and baby looked fine! I continued to bleed a few more times during our first trimester.

we are now almost 32 weeks with our healthy BABY BOY and cannot wait till we get to meet him earth side in November. Our journey has been nothing short of a miracle and were so blessed beyond measures. NOVEMBER HURRY UP.” #howtheyrevealed (📸: @victoriarose_27 | @jaredf24)
