  • I got up with beau this morning at 4:30. He went to work and I caught up on the bachelorette, drank coffee in bed, got a little spin in, switched laundry and got the kids set for the day. It was starting off to be the best Thursday morning. Until I realized it was Wednesday. 🤦🏼‍♀️ #humpday

  • One of my favorite face masks! Origins is a super natural skin care brand that I absolutely adore and has so many great skin care products like this Rose Clay mask. 🌹🥀⁣⁣

I use a very clean makeup brush and apply it like I am painting my face. You want to make sure to wash your makeup brushes frequently, especially if you are planning on using one for a face mask because you are leaving whatever product or leftover makeup residue was last on it. That old bacteria can really help cause inflammation and acne so if you break out after using face masks this could be a reason why! I soak my makeup brush in hot water and use a brush cleaner I bought from Sephora for $20. ⁣⁣

But back to the actual face mask... sorry but I get really distracted when talking about skin care...🤪 I love to use a face mask 1x a week or more depending on how busy I am and give myself a sort of spa day. 💅🏻✨⁣⁣

For my fun little spa days I do a clay face mask like this fill my bathtub with warm bubbly water, turn on my aroma diffuser and enjoy some essential oil blends like tea tree, lavender, and ylang ylang. After around 20-30 minutes I wash off my mask and put on my toner and moisturizer. 😊💆🏼‍♀️ ⁣⁣

  • Breakfast isn't everything we thought it was. Saying it's the most important meal of the day isn't exactly correct because it depends on the person. People get hungry at different times and operate on different schedules. Not eating breakfast won't directly result in unwanted weight gain, but ignoring hunger overtime does have the ability to cause weight gain. By the time you sit down to eat, you're virtually ravenous and will likely be compelled to consume more than you need. The key here is to eat intuitively and mindfully. Learn to listen to your body. It knows what you need and what you don't need.

Just because you follow food combining doesn’t mean you can’t eat out! Some restaurants do make it difficult, but brunch is definitely a safe bet. Almost every brunch menu has avocado toast in some form! ⁣⁣

  • As much as I am a firm believer in tracking as it has so many benefits for those who have certain goals and the education of what is actually in the foods you’re eating, breaking it down to simplicity for others is a great starting point.

🥩 have a palm size portion of protein 3 time per day
🥔 a fist size portion of carbs 1-3 times per day
🥜 don’t overeat fat, keep it to a tbsp or a thumb size
🌽 try to eat 1-2 cups per meal, don’t overdo it either
🍎 snack on 1-2 pieces of fruits per day

This is a good starting point, although it doesn’t factor in daily calories, for the most part eat like this, don’t snack or eat processed foods, candy etc and you’ll be well on your way to a leaner, healthier physique 💪🏼

I’m learning to incorporate foods back into my diet slowly and finding a better balance with most things in moderation. ⚖️ if I’ve learned anything over the course of my wellness journey it’s to #listentoyourbody and do what’s right for you, while also being mindful of the impact you’re having. 2 cups of mini plum tomatoes, halved (from @picknpay)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1 large cucumber, diced+1 green bell pepper, diced + ½ red onions, thinly sliced (from @foodloversmarket)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ½ cup kalamata olives (from @medideliza)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
½ cup of extra virgin olive oil (Aegean gold is my fav from @protoulis_olive_oil)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1/3 cup red wine vinegar (from checkers_za)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
100 gr feta cheese crumbled (from @dodoni.eu, really I am impressed that I can find this delicious feta here!)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
pinch of salt and pepper (from @cerebossa)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
pinch of dried oregano and some capers (optional) (our oregano & our capers are from Korakis-Marinos, from our last trip in Chios Island in Greece,actually their making delicious traditional syrup sweets with veggies and fruits, but really love their deli!)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

    1/3 cup red wine vinegar (from checkers_za)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    100 gr feta cheese crumbled (from @dodoni.eu, really I am impressed that I can find this delicious feta here!)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    pinch of salt and pepper (from @cerebossa)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    pinch of dried oregano and some capers (optional) (our oregano & our capers are from Korakis-Marinos, from our last trip in Chios Island in Greece,actually their making delicious traditional syrup sweets with veggies and fruits, but really love their deli!)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
    ✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
