  • Pull Day 1: ✔️⁣
⁣
Here are the three goal movements of the day; this is week 1 of Shrug Machine RDL’s and Chest Supported Rows. I definitely overreached on RDL’s, the goal is to progress those 5 reps to a cleaner 12 reps before I go up in weight. ⁣
⁣
I’m taking a different approach in this training block of trying to progress to 12-15 reps with a goal weight before I increase the working weight. There’s a couple reasons why: ⁣
1. I suck at high reps (counting is tough ☹️) ⁣
2. Injury Prevention, I’m trying to slow the pace of weight progression somewhat because I’m feeling all the aches and pains from the last training block post-show ⁣
⁣
Full Pull Day: ⁣
1. Cable Pullovers: 4x12-15⁣
2 Bent Over DB Rows: 140’s x10 (2 Rep PR), 110’s x12⁣
3. Shrug RDL’s: 5 biscuits for 5, 4 biscuits for 11⁣
4. Chest Supported Rows: 10,8,7 w/ 2 biscuits ⁣
5. Single Arm Lat Pulldowns: 3x12⁣
6. Pullovers: 2x25⁣
7. Cable Curls: 3x20-25⁣

  • Today I decided since I wasn’t training I would be an Instagram model 😇
——-
Now let’s talk about what’s really important here. Why and when rest days important. For beginners it’s a tough topic. You have to work hard to break past plateaus and push your self but you are also so new to the game and will battle extreme muscle soreness. Taking 1-3 days off a week would be optimal for someone starting out.
——
For someone that has been doing it for a year or 2 maybe 3 then you are probably the people that fall into this category. You set a specific split for the week and follow it. Again it’s not incorrect but your not quite there yet.
——
For optimal muscle gain and fat loss, for serious athletes or people looking to take your physique to the next level. Listening to your body when it’s time to rest. This doesn’t mean if you feel or tired you take an off day. You sometimes train 5 days in a row and do vacuums and core and calves on your considered days off. Sometimes there are no days off. Sometimes I ache like a mother fucker but if I feel like I can train, I simply know it will only make me stronger. Today I just felt like it was a needed day off because we raised my calories a week ago and I am currently down almost 8 lbs from last Saturday morning. Not to mention I’ve trained 5 days in a row and trained legs with the boss yesterday. This has been so routine now for 109 days to be exact since I started using IIFYM. My body is burning fat at 4500 calories and I feel indestructible. The rest day today is just to hopefully slow my metabolism down just a tiny bit and let my legs recover.

  • FINDING BALANCE: ⁣
⁣
There’s a beautiful amount of hypocrisy in fitness. I truly believe most of us get into this to be healthy and I’ve accepted that none of this has been deemed healthy in a very long time. When this picture was taken my schedule went as followed: ⁣
⁣
•4:45 AM: Wake Up, Take Check In Pictures⁣
•5-6 AM: Fasted Cardio, Abs ⁣
•6:30-8:30 AM: Make Breakfast, Prep the days food, pose ⁣
•8:45AM-5PM: Work, Research, Write the Workout for the Day⁣
•6:30-10PM: Train, Pose, Cardio ⁣
•11PM-1AM: Eat Final Meal, Shower, Chores ⁣
⁣
This was every day. I loved it. I THRIVED with structure. I craved it every day. ⁣
⁣
Having “freedom” now is a terrifying thing. I dieted for 33 weeks of this year and became so accustomed to it. Now I can eat sugar? Or have a refeed whenever I want? During prep that sounded like a DREAM, but now I hate the thought of it. ⁣
⁣
There’s an ongoing internal battle between pushing food and size, and being comfortable in my own skin. Being able to fit in clothes. Hell, being able to breathe comfortably 😂 accepting the fluff has been difficult, but I understand it’s a necessary evil. Not knowing when the next show is, when the next prep begins, when fasted cardio starts again, has left me in such an odd place mentally. ⁣
⁣
I can sit here and complain about every aspect of what fitness is, what bodybuilding is. But I’ll always do it. I’m addicted to it. It’s an ongoing mental battle, but I’ll never give it up. ⁣

  • A true testament of a man is how you bounce back from failure. I busted my ass for 16 weeks and the outcome wasn’t what we trained for. 6th place out of close to 20 guys in a stacked class. At the end of the day, I still love this sport but I refuse to conform to the “you have to take steroids to win”. Props to those who are willing to do that, I’m not against or downing any of you but to jeopardize your health for a trophy that will sit on a wall and collect dust just doesn’t do it for me. I will remain all natural and become a pro all natural no matter what anyone tells me. I take pride in this look and it may take more time to achieve my goal but I’m willing to put my head down and work for it. I want to earn it the right way‼️

It’s taken me a while to achieve this feat but through the grace of God- I have finally won my first overall title 🙏🏽 Classic Physique -
@champagne_productions @icandyclassic Thank you for the platform to showcase our hard work. I loved every second of being on that stage! -
There’s one particular quote that I would like to share - “If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants.” (Sir Isaac Newton)
-
This goes without saying- thank you to my support team; my family and friends. Your belief in me and my dreams always leave me speechless ; especially because it seems as if you guys believe in me more then I believe in myself 🙈You guys mean everything to me. Special thank you to my wifey @deany_007 for putting up with me and being by my side through it all❤️. Also, thank you to all those who have walked this journey with me; your support, encouragement, inspiration and passion keeps me going. -
Thank you to my coach @julesjlab for helping me bring this package to stage - only upwards from here. -
This is the start of something special 🏆🔝 Never stop believing
