  • Here is the very long awaited #Meatballs in #Cherry #sauce AKA “Kebab bil Karaz”
As I mentioned about this dish many times in my stories while I was preparing now it’s the time to share the #recipe for my beloved followers who are looking forward to trying the recipe. 
I consider this a syrian #dish and perfected in the Armenian kitchens of Aleppo.
There are different versions of the dish but this is my version which perhaps not 100% traditional but absolutely #delicious. And the most important about this dish it’s Hubby’s favorite 😉❤️ Ingredients 
Meatballs:
1/2 kg beef mince
1 finely chopped small #onion
1 tsp #cinnamon
2 tsp cumin
Pinch of hot chilli powder
1 tsp #salt
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
 Parsley, finely chopped

Cherry Sauce:
2 cups cherries, halved and pitted
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp sugar
2 tbsp #pomegranate molasses
Juice of half a #lemon
Salt 
Black ground Pepper (to taste)
100g pine nuts, light browned in butter

Method
* Start by making the meatballs. Add all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl and knead until mixed together completely. Place in the fridge to firm up for about an hour. * While the beef is in the fridge, make the cherry sauce. Put the cherries into a saucepan with a cup of water, the cinnamon, pomegranate molasses, lemon juice, sugar and a pinch of salt and pepper, bring to the boil, and then turn down slightly and leave to simmer (fairly vigorously), stirring often, for about 20 minutes until the sauce has thickened nicely and the cherries have broken down and they become soft. * Cook the meatballs over Medium heat for about 4 minutes on each side, just so they're cooked through and starting to caramelize on the outside.
* When the sauce is the right consistency - it should be syrupy - add the meatballs and the pine nuts and let everything gently simmer for another five to ten minutes , that’s it! it’s ready! Spread the meatballs with the sauce on the flatbreads or Pitta bread, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and enjoy the unique #taste !

I wanted to make this dish called Fishnah Kebab (cherry kebab) which is a classic meatball dish, served with a sauce of wild sour cherries, which is a variety grown in specific regions of Armenia. I made this with local sour cherries that I found but y can also make it with frozen or canned unsweetened cherries. This dish is also famous of the Northern Syrian town of Aleppo.
