  • i was so happy it was raining today because rain this time of year practically never happens in california but our car broke down this evening and we were stranded on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck which really tested my love of rain🙃. life...what can you do?🤷🏻‍♀️🌧 (p.s.: @brentmccluskey was singing “old town road” why we were taking this pic so i couldn’t stop laughing😂)

  • Observing a distant storm just to our southeast. Gotta love atmospheric instability! Surely, a late-season storm system was ushering in spotty showers/t-storms this day around the Bay Area as well as out in the Central Valley (and snow to the higher elevations of the Sierras). Pic taken from San Jose, CA from SJC-4 around the Cisco campus. I was just starting my morning delivery run at the time… (Thursday morning, ‎May ‎16, ‎2019; 9:16 a.m.)
*Weather update:
The 1st in a series of late-season storms had brought rain, locally heavy, to Northern California. By Friday & the first half of Saturday, we were to see partly cloudy skies with scattered showers mainly over the higher elevations. The next low pressure area was forecast to move in Saturday afternoon thru early Monday with more rain & possible t-storms. There was to be a brief break late Monday & then another storm system was forecast to come in by Tuesday/Wednesday…

  • Gloomy, stormy skies seen over Silicon Valley early this evening. This almost looks like a passing thundershower in a way… A decently strong, unseasonable storm system was ushering in rainy, unsettled weather to our region this day. It’s quite unusual to still see rain this late in the season, especially for us here. Pic taken from around San Jose, CA from up at The Point Church. (Wednesday, ‎May ‎15, ‎2019; 6:22 p.m.)
*Weather update:
The first in a series of late-season storms was now just off the coast & was moving slowly eastward. This system was to bring rain, locally heavy, to Northern California this day & Thursday. Gusty south winds were to occur in some areas. By Friday & the first half of Saturday, we were to see partly cloudy skies with scattered showers mainly over the higher elevations. The next low pressure area was forecast to move in Saturday afternoon thru early Monday with more rain & possible t-storms.
