as a qb certain throws you know your throwing based off your preread the reciever did not run the route so i’d day it’s the recievers fault but the qb should’ve noticed it before throwing

Definitely just a miss communication. WR probs thought it was a run and tried to run off the dB

Definitely stopping the route. These balls are thrown with anticipation on the part of the quarterback at the highest level. He’s counting on cook to run the route 100% to the best of his abilities. They practice this all the time. I believe there must have been a miscommunication between the TE Cook and his quarterback Derek Carr. Cook is a hard worker and that is uncharacteristic if such a wise veteran. In conclusion, cook should have run the route to his best ability. I was always taught that when you run a route, expect the ball every time. That’s a damn shame.

Obviously Bc he stopped not matter how the ball is thrown if you stop mid route then your chances of getting the ball go from 50/100 to 0/100πŸ’―πŸ’―
