  • Some days I get upset that I’m not as thin as I used to be. But then I remind myself to look back and appreciate the progress I have made. Muscle growth can be just as challenging as losing body fat and you really have to put in the work consistently. It’s not just about eating a bunch of empty calories and hoping to grow. It’s about strategy.

not much to say fitness wise today because i’m already so exhausted from spring semester starting😴 i have not been to the gym much recently and honestly i’m not letting myself be too upset about it. being a student and the school work that comes along with that comes first📚 i’m letting myself adjust to this new schedule and then ill figure out where i can squeeze in the gym!😬

on another note, the news of Kobe and all of the other people who tragically passed away on Sunday hit me hard. I am not a huge basketball fan, but knowing that young children lost a parent that day HURTS. when I was 14 I lost my dad. i’ve wanted to make a post about it for awhile now because i know so many people can relate and understand, but i still don’t quite have the words for a post and hopefully i will soon. please just know that if you still have both parents in your life in some way shape or form you are SO incredibly lucky...DO NOT take a single second for granted. always tell your loved one’s how much they mean to you and how much you love them. you never know when those loved ones won’t be here anymore❣️

I’ve seen a lot of people post that they’re inspired to finally make this goal a reality, to make that change, to make that sacrifice, etc, etc. “Time is running out! No excuses! Go! Go! Go!”

Let’s also make the time to slow down. To really feel and appreciate the very few moments we have on Earth.

Make time to thank God that last night was not your last night. Make time to express gratitude.

Have the courage to be kind and help lift others with you. Make an effort to pay it forward and help someone less fortunate. Love selflessly and authentically. Strive to inspire others in any way you can. Be the change you wish to see in the world.

Engage in real conversations. Put your phone down and give the people around you the respect they deserve. Be present in each and every moment.

If you can....
Make the time to tell your parents you love them. (bonus points if you tell them a couple times a day) Thank your parents for everything they have done, then thank them again.

Call your grandparents and tell them you love them. Ask them real questions and enjoy the precious moments you have with them.

Tell your siblings you love them and make an effort to spend time together.

Text your friends you haven’t talked to and remind them you love them.

Hard work and perseverance go hand in hand with authenticity, appreciation, and family. Never make the mistake of prioritizing one over the other.
