Today was the start of my latest training phase, following a VERY much needed Deload. Often I find myself chatting to my clients about my own training (they’re usually interested 👀) and specifically when I’m on my Deload, the questions of What? Why? & How? are always asked - so I thought I’d make a post on this to clarify exactly what a Deload is, how this can aid you in your own training, and how to implement this into your current training! ⠀

Following the progressive weeks of training, fatigue accumulates to the point we can’t continue progressing at the same rate - ever felt like you’ve hit a wall with your training? The purpose of the Deload is to allow for this build up of fatigue to subside, to allow us to rest and recover and then continue back to our weekly progressions. Fatigue management is one of the most overlooked aspects of any gym goer - #teamnodaysoff sound familiar? Not prioritising your recovery like I did for years, will definitely hinder your progress!⠀

A Deload tends to typically be a reduction in training intensity and/or volume for around 50% - basically complete half of the work you did the previous week. I view it as “going through the motions” and working on technique improvement. We want to avoid inducing any new/foreign stimulus to the body - don’t go adding in new exercises, supersets/drop sets etc.⠀
⠀
The Deload is largely dependent on the rate of your training progressions and training experience. A Deload should be implemented when you can’t push your training progressions any further in that training phase. This should feel very much needed! ⠀

Głęboki wdech i wydech. Cześć. Wróciłam. Jestem. Jestem dla Was. Ciężko o tym pisać. W internecie wszyscy są wymuskani i idealni, chowają to co przykre i złe...może nawet jest taki wymóg, żeby nie mówić np. o chorobach. Ale ja nigdy nie byłam typową Youtuberką czy influencerką i chcę, żebyście wiedzieli co się dzieje i dalej uświadamiali chociażby swoich bliskich.⁣
Jestem już po operacji i wróciłam do domu. Obolała, bez połowy jajnika i z bliznami na brzuchu, który na szczęście nie został rozcięty. Endometrioza trzeciego stopnia - z tym już muszę żyć. Endometrioza to choroba, która stosunkowo niedawno została odkryta i jest diagnozowana. Wcześniej wmawiano kobietom, że taki ich urok i że muszą żyć z bólem. Teraz już wiadomo, że to wcale nie tak i że za bezpłodnością i cierpieniem kryje się właśnie Endometrioza, na którą nie ma leku. Nie można zażyć tabletki i wyzdrowieć, za to do menopauzy można męczyć się z hormonami. Tak to właśnie wygląda. Wiele kobiet cierpi na tę chorobę, która przez tak długi czas była bagatelizowana. Cóż...wkraczam w szeregi endokobiet z podniesioną głową i nie poddam się bez walki. Oczywiście naturalnej, bo nie wierzę w nic tak mocno, jak w terapię ziołową. Matka Natura zawsze znajdzie sposób 🌿
Żyjmy więc dalej z radością w sercu i z ufnością spoglądajmy na Księżyc 🌒🌕🌘

The tahini dressing is Out.Of.This.World 🌍
Plus another pitta with leftover spiced root veg & rice (I'll share in another post) I couldn't even finish it !! Lunch tomorrow = win!
Made polenta chips to go with it too but they're a work in progress. Think I should have oven cooked them instead of frying them, but I'll know for again! The taste was gorgeous though. Just a funny texture. More like fried bread than a chip. 🤔

Bacon Roasted Brussels Sprouts 
Makes 4 servings
➡️ Ingredients:
🔹 Large bag of Brussels sprouts (I bought mine at @bjswholesale)
🔹 4 slices center cut bacon.
🔹 2 cloves garlic
🔹 salt and pepper to taste
➡️ Directions:
Preheat oven to 375. Rinse and halve Brussels sprouts. Cover a baking sheet with tin foil and spray with cooking spray. Place Brussels sprouts on one layer in the pan (make sure the pan isn’t too crowded or they won’t brown). Spray and season the Brussels sprouts to taste with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Roast Brussels sprouts for 30 minutes or until browned and fork tender. In a large pan on the stove, cook bacon slices. While bacon cooks, mince the garlic. Remove cooked bacon and add garlic to leftover bacon grease for a minute until tender (be careful it will burn quickly). Add Brussels sprouts to pan and sauté for 2 minutes. Dice the bacon and add it back to the pan. Serve hot! .

  • COMPARISON to others is the theif of happiness and self love. If anything compare yourself to well YOURSELF. I understand and absolutely agree that we all follow people we admire whether it's for their looks or their minds. However we often get caught up in comparing ourselves to them not noticing how far we've came in our own journey. Your personal journey is an ACCOMPLISHMENT and you should be proud! 
This is exactly 2 years apart to the day. I have gained significant more muscle in my legs and glutes giving me more curves. My upper looks pretty close to the same, however I personally know that I am physically stronger. I can do much heavier weight now upper body than I could then and soon enough that will show too so stay tuned 😜

Em um pote, misturar os ingredientes secos e depois juntar o ovo e a manteiga derretida, mexendo para integrar bem.
Termine de amassar com as mãos. A massa fica sequinha.
Só moldar as bolinhas e dispor em uma forma untada ou de silicone.
Apertar as bolinhas com a ponta dos garfos.
Levar pro forno por 20 min ou até dourar
Esperar esfriar e manter em um pote fechado

It was a rough day since I’m sick but I went in and did the thing. I thought about late canceling because I didn’t get very much sleep but I’m glad I didn’t cancel! I tried my hardest not to over do it. .
On the rower and floor that’s where I spent most of my time in the first three zones. I found it hard for my heart rate to increase I to the fourth and fifth zine which I found weird. Usually when I’m sick my heart rate is through the roof. And before anyone asks no I was not on any medication this morning. .
On the treadmill that’s where I found myself able to get into those zones to earn my after burn! The tread blocks where rough as I started to cramp up pretty intensely half way through. But I pushed through and earned my 12 splats! I was honestly worried I wasn’t going to be able to do it. If I didn’t get those 12 splats I was going to give myself the benefit of the doubt because I’m sick. .
Overall I’m very proud of myself for going in there this morning when I didn’t want to and doing the best I could. Heres to a very restful weekend!

    It was a rough day since I’m sick but I went in and did the thing. I thought about late canceling because I didn’t get very much sleep but I’m glad I didn’t cancel! I tried my hardest not to over do it. .
    On the rower and floor that’s where I spent most of my time in the first three zones. I found it hard for my heart rate to increase I to the fourth and fifth zine which I found weird. Usually when I’m sick my heart rate is through the roof. And before anyone asks no I was not on any medication this morning. .
    On the treadmill that’s where I found myself able to get into those zones to earn my after burn! The tread blocks where rough as I started to cramp up pretty intensely half way through. But I pushed through and earned my 12 splats! I was honestly worried I wasn’t going to be able to do it. If I didn’t get those 12 splats I was going to give myself the benefit of the doubt because I’m sick. .
    Overall I’m very proud of myself for going in there this morning when I didn’t want to and doing the best I could. Heres to a very restful weekend!

❤️6x12 single leg hamstring curls. 30 second rests
.
❤️4x10 squats. 45 second rests
.
❤️6x12 leg press SLOW AND CONTROLLED. 20 second rests.
.
❤️6x12 Romanian deadlifts and squeezee dat 🍑! 30 second rests.

Try it out and report back! Keeping rest periods short keeps the heart rate elevated so you can get in dat fat burning zone! And also just contribute to a healthy heart :)
